I had a dream last night that I was playing rhythm guitar for Eddie VH. The auditorium was nearly empty, the drummer was late, and the rest of the band came out dressed in big fuzzy bear suits. Courtney Love was hanging off my arm while I was waiting to play.

I always love that dream.

I already tried this recommendation in a separate thread (which promptly plummeted off the board), but it's just too good not to try it again. The quality is reason enough to check it out, but the quantity is mind-blowing (wish I could put it on a DVD!):

M2/S videos

I also got a kick out of this guy... not the greatest player in the world, but he's got a nice touch and fine sound, and it's just plain cool to have the opportunity to check out a talented cat like this from a distant (to me) land:

Dick Onstenk- jazz guitarist

Ronnie Scott's, circa 1969 (?). Whoever uploaded it either didn't have the whole thing (all three stretch out and trade fours on Kessel's "Blue Mist"), or just wanted to feature their personal favorite (Green), who they refer to as "under the radar". To the general public perhaps (duh), but not in contemporary jazz circles when compared to Burrell and Kessel! Anyway, the video used to get traded via VHS copies amongst jazz guitar nuts, but it's been commercially available now for some years. Too bad this person did a hatchet job on it. ^_^

The audio of this Kessel/Green/Burrell performance ("Blue Mist", recorded at Ronnie Scott's in '69) is now available--with excellent sound--as a "bonus" track on this Gambit CD:

This site is awesome!! There's tons of Wes Montgomery preformances, plus a preformance by the Pat Metheny Group in 1978! with Mark Egan and Danny Gotlieb. Plus good Miles stuff. Not that many b3 videos.

Another important question: Is that the only footage of Green that anyone here has ever seen, or heard about?? (Would be kinda surprising if that's all there is of Green.)

Anybody know of any other Grant Green footage of any sort?? Just wonderin'.
