BERIGAN
Because surely everyone here is a huge fan of Lee Morse, the 20's and 30's singer,....here she is singing in a very LOW voice in 1950! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIF6K-zsxts In case you've been living under a rock, what Lee sounded like in her youth...no one else sounded like her, that's for sure! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v7jL2Nm5OU Edited October 21, 2014 by BERIGAN
The Magnificent Goldberg
Just found some Ray Charles I didn't know about - the septet playing 'Lil' darlin'' live in 1960. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHZnt8S6Xzc Short intro by Willis Connover I could have done without. medjuck
Blues and Gospel Train 1964 -- Muddy Waters, Rosetta Tharpe, Sonny & Brownie, etc. Train tour of the UK by Blues & Gospel artists, very interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJwFUp9WTzY&feature=related Here's a link I found. If you like this (and I think it's great) I highly recommend the 3 DVDs released documenting The American Folk Blues Festival 1962-1966 which seems to be from similar concerts from a different tour. There also seems to be a Italian release that I suspect is a bootleg which seems to have taken stuff from all 3 DVDs and the British broadcast. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_13?url=search-alias%3Dmovies-tv&field-keywords=american%20folk%20blues%20festival&sprefix=american+folk%2Cmovies-tv%2C211 Edited November 1, 2014 by medjuck
medjuck
Monk & Joe Turner!! Where did this come from? (I saw Turner play once at a press party during the Cannes Film Festival. Everyone pretty well ignored him. I'd never head of him at the time but I remember thinking that he was the real thing.

colinmce
Along those lines, is it widely known there's a video of GUO from 1970 on there? I just saw it for the first time last night. Pretty amazing to see a 26yo Evan Parker, among all the others.
