Free For All Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Stan Kenton 1975, w/ Steve Campos tp solo Joe and/or Paul -- isn't the guy I heard just the other night here in KC at the Kenton tribute concert by the KC Jazz Orchestra? The guy you saw with the KCJO was Jay Sollenberger. Love the 1975 attire and hair, btw. That was the era that I was attending the Kenton summer camps. Quote

J Larsen Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 I was recently in SF and tried to drop in on my childhood (years 5 - 13) best friend, only to find out that he had commited suicide a few days earlier. I learned that his father, Al, has been putting videos of himself playing the ukulele up on youtube - this is a song that he did as a tribute to his son: Al hasn't moved since I was a little boy (he's still in the building I grew up in) - I have a lot of memories of that living room he's in... Rooster_Ties Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 (edited) Who knew there was a promo video for this?? Better yet, WHY would there have been a video for this?? and what were you searching for when you found this?? Stumbled on a Youtube user who had LOTS of footage of music acts from the 70's (disco, soft-rock, and other such schlock). I think I was looking for some George Harrison clips (anything I hadn't ever seen before), and then one click on a particular user name, and BLAMMO -- there I was in the middle of 200 videos from the 70's. Had to page through the list, and clicked on a few here and there, was was surprised to see this one (above). Edited October 3, 2006 by Rooster_Ties Quote
