jazz1
Folks, don't miss the Coltrane/Getz/Peterson encounter Jim posted (even if it's not YouTube) ! I'm a Getz fan, but I must say he pales beside the mighty Trane in this performance. Did you check the 2 clips with Bill Evans and Monica Zetterlund?? Amazingly beautiful! Dan should check out the Ray Brown Trio stuff since it has Gene Harris playing. The influence of this board -- every time I see Gene Harris' name, I think of Dan. Guest akanalog
and sorry if someone else posted this-but some footage of one of the best fusion band's of the 70s-the cobham/duke group. http://youtube.com/watch?v=udJxF_P2MsA i know john scofield gives many here a boner so maybe they will enjoy him in a more legimately "funky" environment and with hair. and here is another good track of theirs, IMO- http://youtube.com/watch?v=ItVB-wGYZ-s&...ted&search= Edited August 21, 2006 by akanalog
.:.impossible
aquaboogie from 1979 Now THAT is what youtube is all about. It just looks like it was meant to be broadcast over the internet 25 years later. Get out from behind the computer and LEARN TO SWIM. I've tried to get into youtube... I really have. I watched a good doc on Bueys. I've seen clips here and there from this thread, but damn... if I'm not USING the computer, I'm wasting time behind it. I even have a hard time reading boards, news, etc. I see how youtube/internet boards, etc is some sort of consumerism backlash, but it all feels the same. Damn right. I wish stuff like this still went on. Instead, people have settled for watching a horrible reproduction over a high speed internet connection. "Are y'all hip? Shit..."
