jeffsjazz
In Amsterdam try the Blue Note and most definitely "Concerto"-nice selection and goood prices. Happy shopping!
ornette
Honest Jon's is actually at the other end of Portobello Road, just past the bridge, towards Ladbroke Grove. However in my view it is not worth a visit - jazz stock is now very small and not very up to date either. Shame you are not visiting Birmingham - the Record Centre is one of the best in the country for jazz.

I went there in 1990, when I was on a training course in Birmingham, and bought some good stuff. Then I changed my job and didn't have a reason to return until 2002. I'd forgotten where it was, by then... MG

Peter A
up So, Blue Note, Concerto and Record Palace in Amsterdam? - Record Palace (vinyl only, mostly pop/rock but also jazz). - The Blue Note shop (jazz CD's only) - Fame Megastore (jazz/pop/classical CD's, DVD's, games etc.) - Concerto is the largest store in Amsterdam (jazz/pop/classical/world - Cd's and vinyl - also second hand)
