Big Wheel Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Never tried it before, but I read somewhere that going for a nice long jog will do the trick. Every step will feel like your head is getting whacked with a sledgehammer but it's supposedly all over twice as fast. Quote

Maybe, but it could also just serve to prolong things. A hangover is basically alcohol withdrawal--adding alcohol to your system will just draw things out a bit. Quote

Robert J Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Your body loses lots of Vitamin B when drinking, so take lots of that to help with further cravings. Niacinamide is the pure form of Vitamin B3, and though it gives you a "flush" (blood that is) I found it killed the craving/hair of the dog part. Quote

No wonder the big O sounds so good. Quote

Robert J Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Like that steak! Re B3 - always the best cure! Vitamin B3 is required for cell respiration, helps in the release of energy and metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, proper circulation and healthy skin, functioning of the nervous system, and normal secretion of bile and stomach fluids. It is used in the synthesis of sex hormones, treating schizophrenia and other mental illnesses, and a memory-enhancer. Nicotinic acid (but not nicotinamide) given in drug dosage improves the blood cholesterol profile, and has been used to clear the body of organic poisons, such as certain insecticides. People report more mental alertness when this vitamin is in sufficient supply. Quote

I remeber reading that because you have this alcohol stored latent somewhere in the body unable to be absorbed through said dehydration. You think "mmm, lots of water" only to allow the booze to course through your bloodstream again and possible get you phished once again. B3 sounds good though, with gravy naturally Quote

wesbed Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 You'll be feeling better with some Gatorade, some food when desired and some time. For me, the day after never seems to justify the night before. Quote

Of course I'm going strictly from memory, but I think I'd take about three aspirins and drink a lot of water. too. Thos gator ade and vitamin suggestions sound good, but you have to be precogniitive of your predicament to have them on hand. For some unknown reason these situations always took me by surprise. Free For All Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Man, I used to be able to get trashed, recover and do it again all in the same day. Them days is over! It takes me a lot longer to recover from a hangover than it used to, and that in itself is incentive to not overdo. If I do anticipate one, I try to drink a lot a water before crashing, as it is the dehydration that gives you the nasty headaches. Quote
