I've had a really nice day... took it off from work, lazed around re-reading some Thomas Merton and one of my b-day presents from my wife, Mary Gaitskill's new novel VERONICA. Also listening to some jazz CDs I got with a b-day Cadence gift certificate--Pepper Adams' PLAYS MINGUS, some John Graas, and Joe Albany--and the Monk/Coltrane. Very nice day indeed; going out to get measured for my cane tomorrow. Quote
