Soulstation1 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 For the record I asked her out to lunch back in November and since then we've said maybe 5 words to each other We see each other 2/3 times a week there It totally sucks Quote
BFrank Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Anyone have trouble running Live Chat besides me? I keep getting a message that says "Error. Click for details". When I click there's a pop up with a whole bunch of nonsensical Java script. I re-installed Java, but no change. Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Are people still using this? If not, I'm going to cancel the service. They just charged another $75 for the upcoming year. Expensive. Quote
Free For All Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I think Conn, Agg, Noj, Brooks, and I use it the most (did I miss anyone?) and we haven't been on much lately. What do you guys think? Want to pool some money for Jim or let it go? I for one wouldn't mind keeping it around a bit longer, but only if we can do so without any inconvenience to Jim. I'm due for a board donation anyway. Quote
papsrus Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I'll kick in. As you say, time for a donation anyways. Gotta wait till Dec. 4 though when the old credit card cycle rolls over. Went on a little bit of a spending spree this month. :blush2: Edited December 1, 2009 by papsrus Quote
BFrank Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Since I seem to be having some trouble accessing it, I guess it's OK by me if you cancel it, Jim. And I do miss the multi-hour trash-a-thons. Quote
7/4 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I say drop it...sorry I can't donate, hard times 4 me now. . Quote
marcello Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I used it last week for the first time in quite a while. Since only a few use it when the can, and if it's costing too much, don't hold on to it for my sake. Donation time for me. Right now! Quote
Aggie87 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I will also donate shortly again. I like the live chat when we do get together, but it isn't as frequent as it used to be, that's for sure. I think everyone's just busier or got other things going on. Dunno if it's worth keeping for the few times we use it... Quote
BFrank Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I don't know why FB doesn't let you "group chat". Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I'd like to keep it if possible. I've been out of work now for three years and can't really afford to chip in anything yet, but I will once I get back to work. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 It's already paid for this year, so might as well keep it. If I can remember that the yearly license expires around Thanksgiving, I can see if we're all in agreement next year about keeping it or not. Quote

Robert J Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 BF, something on your local machine is preventing it from working. I am at work now, with one of the tightest firewalls around and I just tested it in IE, Firefox and Chrome. Works no problem. If you didn't see the error message below, here it is again: ------------------------------------ If you are running a version of a Microsoft Windows™ and see only a broken link icon, you will need to download a copy of the Java™ Virtual Machine in order to run our application. You may download Java™ Support for your browser from one of the following links below: * Microsoft Virtual Machine (for MSIE) * Sun Java™ Plugin (for Netscape, Opera, MSIE, etc..) Older versions of Netscape (on certain platforms) such as v4.08, and v4.7x may not run the software. We strongly recommend upgrading to a newer version of Netscape (v6.xx or better) if this is the case. Certain browsers running on Macintosh platforms are not capable of running our software due to problems outside of our control. As WebTV does not support Java™, WebTV users will not be able to access the live chat rooms. Users behind firewalls may need to inform their local IT/network administrator to allow TCP connections on ports 9000-9009 at client.invisionchat.com. AOL Members: Some users have reported that the built-in AOL browser has difficulty connecting to our service, or does not load colors/emoticons properly. To resolve this, minimize your AOL connection, and use the Internet Explorer browser that came with your computer to access our chat rooms. -------------------------------- I am not on org as much, but a chat heads up on a Friday night might see me drinking beer at the computer instead of in my garage! Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I think Buzz is banned. Or maybe the upstairs people have something to do with it. Yeah, check again next year, Jim, to see if anyone uses the feature. If not, might as well shut it down. I feel I've been able to "meet" certain boardmembers through live chat in a way that you couldn't do so by posting on the board. Who would have discovered that Free and Agg= dicks? It's a marvelous resource! Quote
