Jazz Groove
Any sessions that come to mind that you would like ee make its way to disc? I would like 2 Johnny Hodges and Wild Bill Davis sessions, "Wings and Things" and "Joe's Blues".
Dan Gould
My request is somewhat obscure, but a lot of Argo LPs have made their way to CD in Japan, but there is one I've searched high and low for, Richard Evans, Home Cookin'. Not that I expect Universal to put it out in America, but why hasn't it come out in Japan?
Peter Johnson
I'm very excited about what appears to be the impending release of the remaining Brubeck "Time" records...see previous and ongoing discussion. These are great recordings with truly inventive uses of time and chord structures, beautifully recorded in their original states (unbelievably clear, and a great early utilization of stereophonic technology). I can't wait to hear them in remastered glory, particularly since my records are very worn out (from dad in college ( B) ) to me) and I can never find anything other than Time Out in the used (vinyl) bins. Some are just as good as his Blue Note stuff.
bebopbob
I'd like to see more of the Concord Jazz LPs reissued on CD including sets by Ross Tompkins, Cal Collins, Ed Bickert (Bye, Bye Baby) and Red Norvo (Red and Ross Live January 1979) just to name a few... brownie
Talk about oscure? And this is not even a session, but would love to hear this: Coleman Hawkins - A Documentary, a 1956 Riverside 2LP issue where the great man reminiscises. A rare item which never made it to CD. Hawkins was a very articulate person who had plenty to reminisce about.

Jim R
I'd like to see Fantasy finish off Dexter Gordon's catalog by releasing BLUES A LA SUISSE on CD. Ed Bickert's BYE BYE BABY was a good call.
jlhoots
Pepper Adams: Critics Choice (Katzman, Rowles, Watkins, Lewis) I hope I got that all correct.
Clunky
Having just plucked up the courage to get Paypal specifically to get Eddie Costa's " House of Blue Lights" , I cannot understand why this album isn't better known or more widely available. It's simply stunning. This really should be made available everywhere B)

paul secor
Talk about oscure? Hawkins was a very articulate person who had plenty to reminisce about. A strong second to this and also to Joe's mention of Richie Kamuca's Concord sides. And to add some of my own: Zoot Sims in Paris (UA) Leroy Jenkins: Space Minds,New Worlds, Survival of America (Tomato) Fraser MacPherson: Live at the Planetarium (West End, Concord) New York Contemporary Five: Live at Jazzhus Montmartre (Sonet) Roswell Rudd's Horo recording The entire series of albums that Stanley Dance produced for the Felsted label Cecil Taylor/Albert Mangelsdorff/John Surman/Barre Phillips/Friedrich Gulda & others: Nachricht Vom Lande (Brain) The Joe Daly Trio at Newport '63 (RCA) - Listening to this now, it's obvious, as Chuck Nessa pointed out, that it was actually recorded in the studio with Father Norman O'Connor's intro and the audience sounds edited in. Bill Lewis/Khan Jamal: The River (Philly Jazz) And in rock: Bunky & Jake's two Mercury LPs Jake Jacob's two LPs with the Family Jewels (Polydor) Doug Sahm and Augie Meyers: The "West Side" Sound Rolls Again (Teardrop, Amigo) In Blues: Guitar Slim's Atco sides I guess I rambled on a bit, but there's an awful lot of great music that should be readily available to listen to, but isn't, for whatever reasons. JohnS
I'd go as far as to say the whole HORO 2lp catalogue. Near the top of my list of reissues I'd like to see are the Mulligan Quartets on Verve get a cd reissue and the Phil Sunkel's Jazz Concerto Grosso on ABC Paramount. The New York Contemporary 5 is out on Storyville minus one track so a complete reissue would be welcome especially if there's extra material. Shrdlu
"Expansion", by Denny Zeitlin. This LP came out in 1973 and you had to order it through the mail from Denny. It is a very interesting and experimental album - not experimental in the avant garde sense, by the way.
Chuck Nessa
Mention of Hodges/Wild Bill dates brings to mind a Verve date called "Mess of Blues". It is only about a half hour long, but is a MF.
Late
In no particular order ... • John Tchicai's albums on Fontana • Roswell Rudd's album on America (I think that's the correct label) • (second vote for) Mingus's UCLA Concert, and other Mingus Records material • Gerry Mulligan's Jeru on Columbia • Don Ellis's session on Pacific Jazz • Chico Hamilton's trio session on Pacific Jazz • Tom Wilson's LP sampler of Transition sessions • Ran Blake's solo session on ESP • The Complete 1962 Town Hall Concert (Ornette Coleman) • Ornette Coleman: Crisis • Ornette Coleman: At 12 • Rolf Kühn's Impulse! session • Noah Howard's two ESP sessions (now OOP) • the "lost" 1963 Lacy/Rudd sessions for Columbia and Verve • Steve Lacy: Sortie (Polydor Spain) • Steve Lacy: Stalks (Denon; 1975 trio) • Steve Lacy: Catch (Horo; 1977 duo with Kent Carter) • Kenny Davern: Unexpected (Kharma; quartet with Lacy, Swallow, Motian; 1978) • a single disc reissue of Elvin Jones' The Ultimate • a single disc reissue of Sam Rivers' Contours • Art Hode's Shine on domestic Blue Note (with original cover please) — sigh
Chuck Nessa
The Transition sampler will never be reissued (or will be difficult) because the various masters are owned by various companies/individuals.
