Al mentioned at Charlie's Tavern one day that he'd just finished an album with 24 mandolin players. Someone asked, "Where did they find that many mandolin players?"

"Well," said Al, "all day today you couldn't get a haircut in Jersey City."

My wife cuts my hair.

And we have saved several hundreds of dollars that way.

For some years I've gone to a very nice older gentleman -- probably in his 80s now -- whose price is probably the lowest in town. I don't have much hair to cut, so I don't worry too much about it. But now I'm afraid my man is losing his touch. Last time he nicked me twice. So I may be looking for another barber.
