Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts.

I had a good birthday - actually celebrated Saturday. My wonderful wife Joan threw a party for me at a local restaurant with about 30 friends and family attending. Ed Diehl (a guitarist who recorded with Jack McDuff, Gene Ammons, Sonny Stitt, and Hank Mobley) played, along with my friend Bill Morrison on bass.

Ed lives in nearby Poughkeepsie and is still playing great - as well as anyone else out there today - at least to my ears. He and Bill had never played together before, but once they started playing, they locked right in.

My wife said that when someone hits sixty they deserve a special day, and she made one for me. It was a birthday I won't forget.

You guys have helped to make my real birthday (today) a great day too.
