bebopbob Posted July 13, 2003 Report Posted July 13, 2003 I just read that Columbia/Legacy will be issuing a 5 CD box set in September called "For All Time" which will consist of the five Brubeck "Time" LPS: Time Out -no additional tracks Time Further Out Time Changes - first time on CD Countdown-Time In Outter Space- first time on CD Time In- first US CD release Does anyone know if these will be available individually or must we have to buy the 5CD set just to obtain the Countdown and Time Changes material previously unavailable on CD? Roger Hiles Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I don't have any inside info, but considering recent Columbia/Sony reissues (i.e. the Armstrong Hot Fives, Miles at the Blackhawk), it seems likely. Quote
Adam Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Alternatively, it might be like the Mingus box where all three CDs (to the best of my knowledge) were available singly, although the Alt Takes disc may have come out after a bit, and with a limited life. Quote
Ed S Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I've really neglected Brubeck. This seems like a nice opportunity to jump in and check him out. Quote
Bright Moments Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 So, does anybody have any idea when this is coming out? Where can I pre-Order? B) Quote
GregK Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I recently asked about this box in another thread in the Box Sets category. Apparently it seems to be pushed back to March, as is typical of Sony/Legacy Quote
clinthopson Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll just have to wait 'til springtime. IMHO, Dave Brubeck is one of the most creative musicians in jazz history, regardless of how one feels about his pianio playing. Quote
RDK Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I've had a promo box of this set for a few months now. It looks to be just the five albums gathered together under one roof. The last three albums are new to CD, with only a couple of bonus tracks added. "Time Out" uses the same HDCD master as the single disc version. It sounds great! I would expect Sony to release the "new" discs individually at some point, but don't know for sure when. Yes, this set has been delayed - my box has printing on it saying that it's to be released in October, 2003. Quote
Bright Moments Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 so where can you get one of them there "promo boxes"? Quote
RDK Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Found it in a used CD store a few months back. I actually saw a second copy more recently and was gonna pick it up for a guy, but when i went back it was gone. Quote
Bright Moments Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Wow, that was a lucky find! Quote
