PHILLYQ Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I've always liked Roger Miller- I find his tunes witty and hummable- so shoot me! Quote
Free For All Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 (edited) Oh, and I've got about 90% of a Frankenstein monster built in my garage. If I can catch just one more hobo, I'll have it completed... ← Here's a lead for you..... EDIT: Another thing, perhaps you and Duke City should hook up. Oh...and I killed a drifter once, just for his trucker gimme cap. Just trying to be helpful. Edited November 4, 2005 by Free For All Quote
andybleaden Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Well cannot compete with them however I always quite enjoyed Norah Jones' cds Quote
king ubu Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I like free jazz. ← so do I - also it often happens that I notice, in concerts or while playing CDs at home, that I like contemporary improvised music... Quote
tonym Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I listened to my wife's...my WIFE'S DAMMIT... Gwen Stefani album the other day. She's hot though (when she's not dressed like a chav that is) so she's exempt. ELO here too! and George Michael, Scissor Sisters, Cypress Hill, NERD and loads of slushy Motown tunes. Quote
king ubu Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 c'mon you britons: confess that you like Humph! Quote
tonym Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 c'mon you britons: confess that you like Humph! ← I have him playing on one of my Radiohead discs Quote
Dave James Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Dean Martin. I have everything he ever recorded for Capitol and Reprise on four Bear Family box sets. Speaking of Rolf Harris, remember the other "hit" he had stateside? I think it was called "My Boomerang Won't Come Back." When I was a kid, I recall being transfixed by Lonnie Donnegan's "Will Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor On the Bedpost Overnite." Up over and out. Quote
Peter Friedman Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I am not a Rock fan, but-but-but I do like some things by The Rolling Stones. Quote
md655321 Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I know the words to a couple Ashlee Simpson tunes. Beat that! Quote
JSngry Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Ashlee Simpson & Evelyn Ashford (I guess that's who they were) wrote some very good songs and made some very good records. Quote
Dan Gould Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I know the words to a couple Ashlee Simpson tunes. ← Well, that puts you ahead of Miss Simpson herself. Quote
Aggie87 Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 (edited) I know the words to a couple Ashlee Simpson tunes. ← Well, that puts you ahead of Miss Simpson herself. ← The prosecution submits evidence 1-A to the jury (when you can't even lip-sync effectively, resort to the hoe-down): Edited November 4, 2005 by Aggie87 Quote
Brad Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I am not a Rock fan, but-but-but I do like some things by The Rolling Stones. ← Nothing wrong with that. I just purchased through iTunes Paint it Black and Between the Buttons (UK version). Paint it Black is one of their best albums and that 11 or 12 minute version of Going Home can't be beat. Quote

.:.impossible Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 wow no other guilty pleasure confessions for Enigma? guess cuz I'm one of the younger ones LOL ← I wouldn't buy an Enigma CD for a penny. I'm twenty-eight. No offense of course. Quote
catesta Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 (edited) Englebert Humperdinck Another for me is the great Jerry Vale, although there is no need to keep that a secret. Any person that doesn't get Vale needs to have their ears examined. I've got a whole "dirty little secret" section on my shelves. The heavy metal, funk and motown stuff I display loud and proud, but some of the others are a little covered up. If you look real close you might see Andy Gibb, Tears For Fears, Marty Robbins, Lionel Richie, The Bee Gees, Pilar Montenegro, and..... Edited November 5, 2005 by catesta Quote
chris olivarez Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 (edited) I like Patty Loveless and Iron Maiden. :rsmile: ← Was this a one-off performance, or did they do a whole tour? ← Patty has a new one out called "Keep Your Distance" she probably recorded it with Iron Maiden in mind. Chuck Nessa Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Ashlee Simpson & Evelyn Ashford (I guess that's who they were) wrote some very good songs and made some very good records. ← I think I have all the Ashlee & Evelyn records. Quote
chris olivarez Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Also, Rolf Harris' "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Jack". ← "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" Ah, that takes me back... to a time when I had no idea what the hell that song was about! I still don't. ← Sounds like the concotion of a bunch of drunk Aussies(I used to have that record long before I ever thought of drinking!!!). But now that Kaiser Bill's Batman has been dredged up and is now in my head I think I'll find those Aussies or any Aussies and get plowed with them and maybe I can get Kaiser Bill and his Batman out of my head. slide_advantage_redoux Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 I went to several bluegrass jamborees with my folks growing up, and I still enjoy listening to "good" bands in that bag. Hell, I even played banjo for a couple of years. I admit that I listen to Allison Krause and Union Station when I am at home alone. There, I said it and I feel better! Quote
