I was thinking of going up to NYC on the week-end of 12/9, but I checked the major clubs and there doesn't seem to be really anything worthwhile going on. Any other leads

Yeah--Philly. Actually, I just checked the Philly Jazz section of Alan's Jazzmataz site, and saw that Bobby Watson is going to be playing with the Jimmy Bruno trio at Chris' Jazz Cafe on Friday and Saturday nights of that weekend. That should be a nice show, and it's a shorter trip.

There's not much to do in NYC.

It's just that if I'm going to NYC, it might as well be when there's a great show happening. That week-end looks just so-so, but I'm waiting fo the Jazz Standard.

I might go up to Vermont instead, if I can figure out how to do it without a car.

i was also thinking of going to nyc, on 12/09, to see the jeremy steig quartet, at the cornelia st. cafe. the quartet: jeremy steig-flute,vic juris-guitar,cameron brown-bass,anthony pinciotti-drums. also, i thought i'd hit the metropolitian museum of art, for their vincent van gogh exhibit, there thru 12/31. does anyone have any ideas on a place to stay that won't break the bank.if you do or don't, thanks anyway.
