The clocks go back an hour in Europe tonight

I saw this in the paper but not on the news so far.  How long has this been going on, and it is an attempt to keep the EU sort of in sync with the US?  In other words, if the US really goes ahead and changes its Daylight Savings will the EU follow suit?

This has been going on for years and it's got nothing to do with the United States. The time differences between the EU and the United States are 5-10 hours (depends on where you are), so an hour more or less wouldn't make any difference.

OK, I have a very pressing question... :P

If you have an analog clock

that's one of those "radio controlled" ones that's

supposed to keep perfect time, does the clock go

backward one hour at 2AM or does it go

forward 11 hours? Certainly it doesn't just STOP

for one hour does it?

I'm trying to figure out if I'm gonna get up at 2AM to watch it

and get an answer...

Hans!

Really? I was thinking that would be the lesser of the possibilities.

So time actually stood still for an hour! .....

.......

Last night I awoke in the middle of a dream

(Frank Zappa and I were talking about technology - hee, hee :P )

and I was 25 minutes too late - my analog wall clock was already at 1:25

while the unchanged ones still had 2:25.

Thanks Hans!
