Swinger Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Iggy & The Stooges: Raw Power It works fine every time when I want to get rid of stress! Quote
BeBop Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 STRESS? WHAT STRESS? I've gone from listening 40 hours a week to 40 minutes. 100+ hour work weeks. Constant travel. No 'portable' music, most of the time. Next time I see my CD collection (January '06), I'll try to pull out a couple of the recommendations here. Like the Coleman/Bierach, which I have only vague memories of. Sorry, don't mean to gripe. Personally, I'm a Ben Webster-for-stress-relief guy. No one better at low to moderate tempos. Quote
montg Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I tend to prefer music to match my mood, so the more stressed I am the better I feel, for some reason, if the music reflects that..so, something turbulent by Mingus, or Elvin, or Coltrane, or Booker Ervin.... Now, when I'm goofy happy, there's nothing better than Eddie Condon to match that mood. But that's another thread. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Recommended Music to Relax to... Terry Riley's Persian Surgery Dervishes (New Tone) But don't get too stressed if you can't find it... ← I love that record. I have a Shandar vinyl, and have played the shit out of it. Quote
CJ Shearn Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Enigma. LOL. A mix of made of some of their stuff. Mainly I like the atmospherics, but "I Love You, I'll Kill You" is strangely relaxing in an odd way. Quote
