Chalupa Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Whoa! I just found this thread. Just wanted to echo the sentiments of the other board members. Hopefully we can meet up at one of the ATTF shows for a beer and a chat. Take it easy. Oh, and thanks for all of your work w/ the Jazzmatazz site. A truly indispensable resource. Quote
alankin Posted October 16, 2005 Author Report Posted October 16, 2005 Thanks, Philly guys. Be good to get together before or after a show or elsewhen. Quote
Peter Johnson Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 I'll be back next weekend--Saturday and Monday nights (Sunday in NYC). Anything going on? Thanks, Philly guys. Be good to get together before or after a show or elsewhen. ← Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Sorry to be so late but all the best Alan. I know how tough these personal things can be. All the best.......... Quote

Why don't you guys check the Philly Jazz section of the Jazzmatazz site and pick something (except maybe for that Spyro Gyra gig at Zanzibar Blue ). Quote
Peter Johnson Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Actually, I was hoping we could meet up with Jazzkat there! Sorry, that was terrible. I'll take a look. It would be fun to put a hang together! I'll be back next weekend--Saturday and Monday nights (Sunday in NYC). Anything going on? Thanks, Philly guys. king ubu Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Did I mention that when they rebuilt my computer after a disk problem, I lost all my email? But I'm just glad that I don't have a dog or a pickup truck. If I did, the dog would die and the truck would break down. And then I'd be in a country song. ← At least you haven't lost your humour! All the best, Alan! Quote
bertrand Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Alan. I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. Also, I'm sorry to hear about all of your other problems. I hope things will look up soon. Sincerely, Bertrand. Quote
bertrand Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 (edited) General comment: I had noticed that Alan had been absent for a while, but as a rule, I stay away from these 'where is so-and-so threads' because I'm a pessimist by nature. If someone has been away for a while, perhaps they have had some serious personal issues. A lot of times, these threads turn into joke-fests, and sometimes I think that may not be the appropriate tone. My two cents. Bertrand. P.S. Plus, I'm just jealous. I know that if I stopped posting for a month, no one would even notice Edited October 17, 2005 by bertrand Quote

chris olivarez Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Alan you have compressed a lifetime of bad luck and pain into a very short period of time so things just have to get better for you!!! Hang in there amigo. It's a pleasure doing buisness with you!!!! Quote
Adam Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 My condolences Alan. My father died on Sept. 28, and it's pretty difficult. Lymphoma, chemo didn't work, etc. Take the time you need for yourself, and things will get better. Adam Quote
maren Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Just got back to this thread. Wow, Alan. Hang in there. For what it's worth, you have my best wishes. Quote
