Should Rooster keep his current Avatar???

I've had this Avatar longer than any prior. My habit was to change it about once ever week or two, usually to various album covers. What should I do???

I certainly understand the value of change, but I really enjoy that image. Keep it, maybe not forever, but for a good long time.

I know, I'm in the same boat. (Hence my even starting this thread.)

Thing is, I love the image -- and I mean on about 6 different levels.....

[*]Elvin is one of my all-time favorite drummers (for me, not as much from his work with Coltrane, but more from all his sideman work for Blue Note).

[*]Blue is my favorite color, especially dark shades of blue.

[*]My favorite necktie (yes, a Rooster brand necktie!!!) is all-various-shades-of-blue (with some black), and is a ‘mosaic’-type image.

[*]All of my favorite color schemes are all muted colors (especially medium or darker-medium shades), like this image is mostly made up of.

[*]The image has a "forward momentum" to it, so much so that it almost seems to be in motion.

[*]The picture has some geometry to it, but it isn’t abstract – nor is it entirely “un-abstract” (meaning concrete) either.

Rooster, you've had some cool avatars, and I know variety is fun, but this one is easily my favorite. If you're going to rotate, at least keep this one in the mix!

change is very cleansing. i change my avatars often. go for it. half the fun is finding a new one.

Even though I voted no I would say keep your current avatar until you're ready for a change and do keep it handy if and when you decide to change.It's a way cool avatar.

This won't affect the forum server, as the avatar is linked from Flickr, but anyone who opens a thread with your avatar will be downloading this huge GIF file.

Even the lowest level graphic software can reduce the size of that file - I always do so and upload them. If the file is removed from the website you link to, your avatar is gone.
