I was just channel surfing, and during the last moments of the Ellen Degeneres show she thanked today's guests "...Herbie Hancock..."

I assume it was one of the duets from the new CD. Did anyone see this?

No, I didn't see it. Not that I would have anyway. I think it's on around 10? Anyway, I'm curious to find out what tune he played. and was Christina there...?  :D

i didn't see it but i know he did a tune with christina.

Funny to hear about this.

The only time I saw her first sitcom, "These Friends of Mine,"

a subplot consisted of her being nervous about an upcoming date (with a man).

When they met, they were planning on going out to dinner and also to see Herbie.

She nervously referred to him as "Handy Herbcock." Not sure why I remember this,

but it seemed that her first show had some promise.

One of the regular characters was named Joe Farrell :o

I saw that show, but I remember her calling him Kenny Herbcock. Later in the show, it turned out they ditched the Herbie tickets and went to a classical gig instead.

Yeah, that's the one! I probably got the first name wrong Bertrand,

but it was really funny the way she said it. This was many years ago.

I probaly wouldn't call this new album for Herbie, a sellout, because I like when artists do their thing no matter what other people may think. But it's ghastly.

Not kicking myself about this Ellen thing. :mellow:

The chick's got impressive chops, for sure, But DAMN, lady, if you fuck like you sing a love song, forget about getting married and buy a machine instead!

Nice, subtle reharm of the original changes by Herbie, though.
