Which Mosaic boxes might be next to go OOP?

I'm probably going to order the Andrew Hill and John Patton selects next week. I'll get the Stanley Turrentine around Christmas, and the Carmell Jones early next year. Are any of these in danger? Should I change the order of my purchases?

I also plan to get the Tolliver and Jazztet, but those are recent releases.

I would think the Mobley has to go soon. Just finished listening again to all 6 discs. This is BEYOND DOUBT one of the very best Mosaic sets. I suspect that once it hits the running low category it will go real fast. So if you don't have it , grab it NOW.

Yikes!! When I first saw "Mosaic boxes in danger" I thought it was something like Mosaic giving up selling the big boxes or something. I was quite relieved to see the subtitle of this thread!

Another big for the Mobley set, it gets better and better with repeated listenings. I'm also glad I got the J. J. set before it goes away.

Is the Parlan set in danger yet? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that it might be next.

I recently bought the Mobley and asked how many copies they had left of it (and the Elvin Jones) and was told that they weren't in danger of selling out.

I don't know whether you have the JJ Johnson set but that is most definitely in danger, and if you don't have it you could certainly consider it. It's a fine one.

I imagine the Mobley is a steady seller and it may approach its complete run (7500 I think). Perhpas the lease from Blue Note is pretty flexible and allows Mosaic to keep renewing it. The sets leased from Verve seem to be a little less flexible, those sets don't normally hang around for a long time (like the Mobley and the Capitol sets, for instance). So, I'm guessing the Roach and Hodges may be among the next to go. I have the Hodges, I still haven't made up my mind about Roach.

If you go for the Roach, I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed. An excellent set.

I got the Mobley, Elvin Jones, and Max Roach sets just to make sure I won't have to worry about being able to afford them if they run low soon.

I purchased and received the following Sets within the last couple of weeks and these are their numbers for what it's worth.

Patton Select: 4546 of 5000

Chambers Select: 4512 of 5000

Mobley Mosaic: 4754 of 7500

Farmer/Golson Mosaic: 1635/10,000
