rostasi Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 Oh, man - those Italian ones! Damn! Real buggers those are - very pretty to look at before, but nearly impossible to get a clean removal. Also, on that "rapid yank" idea - DON'T DO THIS ON LPS! The LP coating will come off and you'll have a mark there. Lighter fluid...and let it sit for 15 seconds to let it soak thru to the gum on the other side of the sticker and it just slides off. You don't even have to lift the sticker. No damage left after it evaporates (about 5 minutes). Also great on the Italian slime! No smell after a few minutes too. Quote
porcy62 Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 We don't have this problem in Italy. Sometimes we could find sticky mozzarella cheese between case and cd, but no tape... ← But your discs have the most evil stickers on the right side of the jewel cases, just a 2 cm long and 5 mm wide strip... never one succeeds to get those off without any glue being left on the case! And on this photo you can see the other Italian variety that's even more evil than the small ones: ← You're right. That's one of reasons because I buy used LPs Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 will not hurt the case or the paper inserts and evaporates w/o a trace. Quote
porcy62 Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 (edited) Maybe I should start a new thread in vinyl forum: how to remove time strip on promo/dj record Edited October 4, 2005 by porcy62 Quote
LAL Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Just received several hundred new empty jewel cases for free. I now simply replace any new CDs with sticker residue with these. No need to use Goo Gone, saliva etc. :rsmile: Quote
