GA Russell Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 In this morning's flyer, Target advertised Brach's candy corn ($2.50) as Buy Three, Get One Free. Quote
GA Russell Posted October 30, 2016 Report Posted October 30, 2016 There was a FRONT PAGE (!!!) article in yesterday's Wall Street Journal which said that the candy industry has no definition for the taste of candy corn. http://www.wsj.com/articles/yo-candy-corn-m-ms-and-oreos-are-all-up-in-your-flavor-1477666766 Quote

GA Russell Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 Look what I found! 5 lbs. of candy corn - $18.99 prime https://www.amazon.com/Zachary-Confections-Corn-Candy-Pound/dp/B002MYF3T0/ Quote
JSngry Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 Is it just here, of have the Brach mix-and-match system, put it all in a bag and pay by weight at the checkout gone to the ways of yesteryear? Don't really buy much candy by the piece anymore, but wanted to last week and found nothing like what I remembered at Kroger. And really liked how there was an honor system box where you could eat a piece for a nickel. Is Brach still alive? Quote
GA Russell Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 (edited) Jim, Amazon has lots of Brach's candy corn, including "autumn", which I think is the same as Jeff's "Indian corn." I can't remember ever seeing it available by the scoop. Maybe 50 years ago at a Woolworth's. Edited August 15, 2018 by GA Russell Quote
JSngry Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 maybe it was a regional thing. We had it in all the grocery's once upon a time, not that very long ago. Not the candy corn or the circus peanuts, just things that were already individually wrapped. But I see that a lot of my favorites are no longer made, like those Neopolitan coconut things. mmmmmmmGOOD! Here's what's left: http://www.brachs.com/product-finder/ Quote
GA Russell Posted August 15, 2018 Report Posted August 15, 2018 I'm still concerned about the future of Necco wafers. Quote
GA Russell Posted August 16, 2018 Report Posted August 16, 2018 No, last week the fellow who took Hostess out of bankruptcy backed out of his deal for Necco. Quote
Brad Posted August 16, 2018 Report Posted August 16, 2018 Here's a history of Brach's, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brach%27s It's had an interesting history since the company I used to work for, American Home Products, sold it in 1986 to Jacobs Suchard. It was a fun deal, for sure. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 2, 2018 Author Report Posted September 2, 2018 I bought a bag of harvest corn Hopefully it’s the only one I buy Quote
