In this morning's flyer, Target advertised Brach's candy corn ($2.50) as Buy Three, Get One Free.

There was a FRONT PAGE (!!!) article in yesterday's Wall Street Journal which said that the candy industry has no definition for the taste of candy corn.

Is it just here, of have the Brach mix-and-match system, put it all in a bag and pay by weight at the checkout gone to the ways of yesteryear? Don't really buy much candy by the piece anymore, but wanted to last week and found nothing like what I remembered at Kroger. And really liked how there was an honor system box where you could eat a piece for a nickel.

Is Brach still alive?

Jim, Amazon has lots of Brach's candy corn, including "autumn", which I think is the same as Jeff's "Indian corn."

I can't remember ever seeing it available by the scoop.  Maybe 50 years ago at a Woolworth's.

maybe it was a regional thing. We had it in all the grocery's once upon a time, not that very long ago. Not the candy corn or the circus peanuts, just things that were already individually wrapped.

But I see that a lot of my favorites are no longer made, like those Neopolitan coconut things. mmmmmmmGOOD!

It's had an interesting history since the company I used to work for, American Home Products, sold it in 1986 to Jacobs Suchard. It was a fun deal, for sure.

Mexico. They closed the Chicago facility in 2003. Shame as I knew some of the people there.

I picked up a bag of Jelly Belly Candy Corn the other day. Made in the good ol' USA. Tasted mighty fine.
