Soul Stream Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Rudy outdid himself on this one...sound is awesome. You can really hear every instrument crystal clear and the organ sounds like it's 2 feet away. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Gonna have to get this... my vinyl is in rough shape. Quote
Soul Stream Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 Yeah Jim...this one is worth the upgrade. I think mine was 8.97 from CD Universe.... Quote
Free For All Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 (edited) 'Stankin' ? ← Stank (noun) I got me some stank on. Stanky, stankin' (adv.) That was some stanky organ playin'! Stankin' should never be spelled with a "g" on the end, as in "You fellows played some stanking good jazz tonight." (usually said by guy w/Eddie Bauer sweater tied around neck) Jim Carrey line from Liar Liar (imitating Tina Turner):"Hit me again Ike, and this time put some stank on it!" Also, stank and stanky should never be confused with skank or skanky. Whole 'nother thing there. Edited September 20, 2005 by Free For All Quote
wesbed Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 'stank' (from dictionary.com) Quote

sidewinder Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I thought it might have been 'stonking' (which this album most likely is). Quote
bertrand Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 No copy protection, I assume? This one is LONG overdue. Bertrand. Quote
Soul Stream Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 No copy protection, I assume? This one is LONG overdue. Bertrand. ← No, no copy protection on this...thank goodness. Once again I want to repeat my full Stankin' endorsement on this RVG. The sound is amazing and the whole session is one of those rare organ dates where groove meets modern jazz. Quote
Free For All Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Stankonia! ← ......what makes your big head so hard? :rsmile: Quote
scottb Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I agree, as soon as the disc started the sonic brilliance was obvious. It's good compared to other RVGs not just the old releases. Quote

David Ayers Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Well, it was in the store, along with the other new RVGs, plastered over with the Copy Control warnings as usual - so, as usual, I passed... Quote

kh1958 Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 The second side of this one is the one I like--Eleanor Rigby (I am taken aback by how good this sounds), and the Turning Point. Quote
