Two Carolina Panthers cheerleaders who allegedly were having sex with each other in a bathroom stall at a Tampa, Fla., nightclub were arrested and charged early Sunday following a run-in with patrons and police.

According to a police report obtained by the CBS TV affiliate in Tampa and the Charlotte Observer, Angela Ellen Keathley and Renee Thomas were arrested following an incident at Banana Joe's, in Tampa's Channelside district, at 2:10 a.m. ET.

In the police report, witnesses claimed Thomas and Keathley were having sex with each other in a stall when other patrons grew angry that the two were taking so long in the bathroom.

Another woman waiting to use the bathroom got into an argument with the two, and Thomas hit that person in the face, according to details of the report posted on TampaBay10.com, the CBS TV affiliate's Web site.

Keathley, who was escorted from the nightclub, was so drunk she could barely stand, the report said. Police described Keathley as rude and belligerent with police.

When Thomas was arrested, she gave police the name of another Panthers cheerleader -- Kristen Lanier Owen, the Observer and TampaBay10.com reported. Thomas, who was charged with one count of battery, might face additional charges for lying to police, once they confirm her identity.

Keathley was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing or opposing an officer.

Other Panthers cheerleaders bailed Thomas and Keathley out of Hillsborough County jail later Sunday morning, TampaBay10.com reported.

The cheerleaders made the trip to Tampa on their own -- the squad performs on the sideline only at home games. Panthers officials at Sunday afternoon's game said they were aware of the report, but declined further comment when contacted by the Observer.

According to the Panthers' official team Web site on NFL.com, Keathley is a registered nurse and second-year member of the TopCats. Thomas is listed as a student at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and first-year member of the cheerleading squad.

I was impressed with the way the Colts manhandled the Patriots last night. The game was over at halftime; the Pats played with as much energy as they could muster, but it appears that they just aren't that good. They'll probably still win 10 games since their 2nd half schedule is so soft, but I think we'll have a new NFL champion this year.

BTW, it appears that the brunette cheerleader requires a bit of work on her face to get it into "game day" shape, huh?

As soon as I saw how strong the Colts defense was early in the season I knew I was looking at our next championship team.

I love the Pats (second only to the Giants) but the injuries are just too much. 3 rings is as fine an accomplishment as one can hope for but their moment in the sun is gone. Perhaps next year, with people recovering from injuries, they can be a force to reckoned with again. But you're not going to beat Manning and his star receivers with no secondary.

More importantly, we're witnessing a hand-over of league dominance from one gracious, polite spirited team to another, while the arrogant stupid jerk hotshots are getting screwed. I love football.

I think too much is being made of NE's injuries. They didn't look good at the beginning of the year, either, when more people were healthy. NE won over the last 4 years with schemes and game-plans as much as their actual talent, and their performance this year has more do with with the loss of their coaching staff than the loss of any players, IMO. On the plus side, I was counting on this and snagged Brady really late in my fantasy draft -- I figured he'd be throwing a lot this year, since the Pats D was going to get scored on quite a bit.

It's hard to imagine anyone beating the Colts this year. They could well be the first undefeated team since the Dolphins. To be able to handle Pats like that on the road is pretty impressive. Injuries notwithstanding, the Super Bowl champs should have been up for last nights game, but they seemed pretty flat.

I'm always amazed at how well Manning avoids the pass rush, not by scrambling running around like Michael Vick does, but with those little stutter steps, which keep him moving all the time, and just out of the defender's reach. It's fun to watch. I also detect a better all round team focus on the Colts this year.

BTW, I figure Owens is wrong when he says the Eagles would be better off with Favre. To me, it looks as if Favre is playing in a fog this year. Has GB declined that much as a team, or is Favre himself really at the end of the line?
