connoisseur series500 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Carolina Panthers DT Kris Jenkins was placed on IR due to torn knee ACL. Tough break for this outstanding lineman, who was also forced to miss most of last year. Pats play Panthers next Sunday. It may have helped our chances a bit. Damn, every game is tough for the Patriots. They've got a killer schedule, plus everyone guns for them. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 12, 2005 Author Report Posted September 12, 2005 jevon walker is also out with a torn acl champ bailey was also hurt rough first week Quote

MartyJazz Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Hey Marty, I noticed that quite a few "experts" have picked the Bills to finish ahead of the Jets this season. What do you think? Damn, you guys should have kept Jordan and released Curtis Martin. Maybe I'll end up eating these words, but that's how it will look. ← Here I am, trying to keep as low a profile as I can and you single me out. Right now, we're in last place in the AFC East and totally deserve to be. I've been off the Pennington bandwagon for quite some time, especially as I see Brady throw one laser beam pass after another and know deep down that Pennington might be a great QB coach one day, but he just doesn't have the goods to deliver more than a playoff spot and that's when his surrounding material is very good. To wit, I also wanted the Jets to somehow keep Lamont J instead of the far older Curtis M but also realize that it doesn't do well for club morale, not to mention the cap arithmetic, to cut the NFL rushing leader for a guy who's yet to prove (although I have no doubt that he will) that he's more than a backup. Being a Jet fan for as long as I have, I've come to expect the worst with an occasional highlight thrown in. Call it intermittent reinforcement. Therefore the Jets are just as likely to again lay an egg next week against the Fins as to blow them out with a "convincing" (temporarily at best) victory. Quote

nmorin Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Oh, man. Jevon Walker is out for the year with a torn ACL. My Packers are toast. My only consolation is that the other three teams in the NFC North looked lousy, too. Quote

Free For All Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) Eagles can't get a break. Anyone else think McNabb is throwing uncharacteristically poorly tonight? Seems like he's missing open receivers more than usual. EDIT- ss1, who did you pick tonight? I hope you get one right this week. Edited September 13, 2005 by Free For All Quote

Jim Dye Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I just got a call from a friend offering some Titans tickets for today's game vs. Baltimore. Whoo hoo! I don't have much hope for Tennessee today, but I'll be there cheering them on. The last professional football game I attended was a Lions game back in the early 80's! Quote

Aggie87 Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 (edited) Bill Parcells was 77-0 in games where his team had a 13+ point lead going into the fourth quarter. After last night, make that 77-1. Washinton pulled two TD's out of somewhere, with less than 4 minutes to go last night, after a strong showing by the Dallas D for the first 55 minutes of the game, to win 14-13. Very frustrating to watch Dan Snyder jumping for joy in his sky box at the end of the game, like he'd just won the lottery or something. But at the same time, if the Cowboys can't score more than 13 points at home before a pumped up crowd (from the induction of Emmitt/Troy/Michael into the Ring of Honor), maybe they didn't deserve the win. Bledsoe had a BEAUTIFUL flea-flicker TD pass to Terry Glenn early, but other than that the Dallas O didn't really do all that much. And the other Monday Night Game - a "home" game for the Saints IN New York, resulted in a win for the Gints. Hardly fair - that game should have been played on a neutral field at the minimum, or preferably at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge or something. Hurt the Saints chances, and gave an extra home game to the Giants, that could ultimately affect who makes it into the playoffs in the NFC... Edited September 20, 2005 by Aggie87 Quote
