I totally forgot a grrrrrrrrrreat album that wasn't mentioned on this thread: pianist Jon Jang's Two Flowers on a Stem, w/David Murray, James Newton (who's brilliant on this), Santi Debriano and Billy Hart. And a musician playing a traditional Chinese instrument, but I can't remember his/her name.

Guy

Just got to bring this one up again. Guy is absolutely right, wonderful cd.

Before the box sets were announced, I picked up these:

Don Pullen/Chico Freeman/Fred Hopkins/Bobby Battle - Warriors

Chico Freeman - No Time Left

Diedre Murray/Fred Hopkins - Stringology

Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre Quartet - Peace and Blessings

Colson Unity Troupe - No Reservation

It looks like Black Saint and Soul Note are getting some sort of reissue programme.

Hmmmm... Again?
I'm looking at around 300 discs in 45 volumes of the last reissue program on my wall.

Where does it look like that?

I think it is oldish news. They have been gradually going up on Bandcamp for the last year.

I'm not sure whether or not that constitutes a false alarm.

Looks like most are digital downloads only.

That's better than nothing -- but some sort of physical media would be preferable (to me).

Maybe the first time streamable for a few of them and the first time available as a paid download for the others. I think that's it, really.

Non-news, sorry. I get excited because it is probably my favourite label, pound for pound.

Yes, for about a year I've been seeing them being bought on Bandcamp,
but not one of them offers streaming beforehand. They assume you know what you're getting and expect you to pay for the download.

was very happy with their CD box set reissue program - picked up many of them though would have been over the moon with three more potential sets (that never eventuated), Billy Bang, Leroy Jenkins & Glenn Spearman

Bang is the one I longed for.  I like those box sets.

Sometimes suddenly a single vinyl reissue pops up. It's hard to track down the sources and even if they are official or not. I know bootleg labels already messed with the catalogue. I would love to see a good vinyl reissue of Mal's Seagulls album.
