Jim Alfredson Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 I will be here. Let's make it a friendly wager. If M wins, I have to change my sig to something of your choosing for a month. If S wins, the same applies to you. Good? Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 it's ON, sucka go blue! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 The only sucka I see in this thread is some foo' who goes by the name of a particular Hank Mobley record. SUCKA!!! :bwallace2: Keep in mind, State would've won the game last year had Stanton not gotten injured in the third quarter. State was blowin' them chumps OUT last year until then. And you better believe that's on his mind this time around. PAYBACK time!!!! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 Man, this is a crazy-ass game!!! 31-31 and we're going to OT! Quote
Saint Vitus Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 I'm disappointed in John L. Smith, benching the kicker for an extra point try and later bringing him back in for the OT. He might be a good recruiter, but he's showing himself to be a bad teacher/coach. Quote
Aggie87 Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 (edited) My Aggies looked absolutely AWFUL today against Baylor...even though we won 16-13 in overtime. That's two years in a row of playing poorly against the lowly Baylor Bears. Reggie McNeal was held in check all day today, and probably just killed his Heisman chances. And the schedule hasn't really been tough yet, that's the bad thing. Our defense is terrible, and if our offense isn't on their game, we're in big trouble. edit - stadium pic from today's game: Edited October 1, 2005 by Aggie87 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 I agree, Saint Vitus. MSU also made too many dumb mistakes. But overall it was a great game. Would've been better had they come out with a win, but that's the way it goes. So, SS1... what do I have to put in my sig? Quote

It took me almost an hour to get out of it on my way to I-96 to go to Ann Arbor. I know we have another thread going but it was an honor to watch and listen to Sonny Rollins tonight. Like how Miles said about Duke, Sonny too has taken in all schools of jazz and made them his. He didn't necessary do 30-minute solos and mesmerize. But you sure could hear the history of saxophone over two hours. At one point, he sounded like Hawk, then Prez, then Ben, then back to young Sonny, etc. etc. etc. A true master at work. I'd also be remiss if I didn't say how awed I was by Al Foster. So many nuances while keeping perfect time ... He truly is wonderful. Edited October 2, 2005 by Saint Vitus Quote

Dan Gould Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 The USC-Notre Dame and Michigan-Penn State games were some of the most exciting endings I've ever seen. Unfortunately, my Seminoles couldn't duplicate the last minute heroics. Quote

Sadly, one(#19) is a tight end at UCLA. Long Beach Poly(CA)...SI's number one high school for athletics over the last ten years. A book was written about this teams loss to De la Salle(151-0, until they lost last year). Sorry, but Snoop(Calvin Broadus, Poly alum) was not on this team, but he did play some hoops for Poly and take a math class with Cameron Diaz(Poly cheer squad). Snoop may ruin Poly's football with his new Pop Warner league that competes with the league that's been around since the 60's and has turned out Poly players: Tony Hill(Dallas Cowboys) LARRY CROOM (Cardinals) WILLIE MC GINEST(Patriots) Samie Parker (KC) Omar Stoutmire(NY Giants) Brandon Whiting (San Fran)..plus another 40 NFL players over the years. I don't know about Snoop(Calvin Broadus). He has single handedly ruined youth football in his hometown so his kid could QB. Most from his hometown and neighborhood despise him. No sense of tradition(that goes back many, many years) and class. Edited November 6, 2005 by wolff Quote
