Hey guys!!! Does anyone here enjoy Jazz music as much as hip-hop? Jazz could have some sick sounds!!! Anyways, i'm listensing to a few tracks from

the new Soullive album called break out. Has anyone heard it? I got it from my internship at umvd. They mix jazz music with hip-hop beats. I'd just thought to share with you guys. They have a website if you want to hear a few clips. See ya.

Welcome to the board. Some folks here love soulive, some like them, and well, let's just say, many folks here are passionate about their music and they claim to "despise" them. :)

Me, I saw them open for DMB once, couldn't really hear them at the time. But heard a cut on the radio afterwards and enjoyed it. I like organissimo better,

but I am biased.

I will go check out their website however. See what the competition is up to...

And that is one of the great tragedies of the music industry. Your music would have to get worse in order for you to be more successful.

If you guys added a DJ, a rapper and some hootchie dancers you could be HUGE!

What if we only add the hootchie dancers?

That would be my recommendation.

Hootchie dancers for sure, even if for only the NYC gig. :tup:party::w

For what its worth, I think Soulive is very good at doing what they do.  What they do gets monotonous to me, but what do I know?  I give any trio centered around organ that can achieve that level of success major props.

I can't speak to their recent material but the stuff I heard a few years ago was pretty darn funky. Didn't Sco play on some of their stuff?

Wow, one post and you're gone. Didn't even respond at all. Thanks for being such an active member of the Organissimo family. We'll all be sure not to buy any Soulive CDs! <_<
