Hardbopjazz Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Anyone know what is on this album? Is it material from other albums? I have never heard of it before, and wonder if it's music I've never heard of Lee Morgan. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted August 18, 2005 Author Report Posted August 18, 2005 I don't see it listed on Mike Fitzgerald's web site. I see two other Trip recordings of Lee Morgan there. Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 No, it's there - 5020. This is the summer 1970 material - either from the Lighthouse or from the Both/And. Most complete issue on a 2-CD set on Fresh Sound. Mike Quote
bertrand Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 (edited) The current version on Fresh Sound has the correct song titles and (hopefully) composer credits, which the Trip versions and the old Fresh Sound did not ('See Autumn' instead of 'Ceora'? Please). Bertrand. Edited August 18, 2005 by bertrand Quote
jazzydaddy Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 I don't have either the "Lighthouse" sessions; the Blue Note 2/3 CD set or the 2 CD Fresh Sound set. Any suggestions as to which of these sessions to pick up first. How is the sound on these? Thanks, Don No, it's there - 5020. jazzydaddy Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Thanks Ghost. I actually tried searching for "Lee Morgan Lighthouse" but came up with no hits. Don Some earlier discussion here and here. ← Quote
ghost of miles Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Thanks Ghost. I actually tried searching for "Lee Morgan Lighthouse" but came up with no hits. Don Yeah, it's odd... I remembered those two threads, but I, too, entered "Lee Morgan Lighthouse" as a search phrase, and nothing came up. Did a simple "Lee Morgan" and then paged through until I found the threads in question. Quote
