wesbed Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I live alone. I make the mess. I clean up the mess. No worries. Fuck. Quote
BERIGAN Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 ...The internet beats the hell out of watching the television. ....← Yeah, staring at a 17 inch monitor wasting time is so much better than staring at a 27 inch monitor wasting time! Quote
B. Goren. Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 She doesn't mind now that we have two computers networked so we can both surf at the same time. We just have to watch it to make sure we don't get on all day and ignore each other... ← You can PM each other.... Quote
robviti Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 How much time is too much? If you've got nothing better to do then so be it. Quote

BruceH Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 My wife could not possibly care less. God bless her. Quote
ghost of miles Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 My wife likes to tease me about it and refers to "the Organissimos" (or is that "Organissimoes"?) and "your Organissimo buddies." Inevitably I see something here--a topic or a funny remark--that I pass along to her at dinner. She's also become a fan of the band, after hearing the first CD and the Christmas tunes, and is looking forward to THIS IS THE PLACE. Quote
catesta Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 When I was married, my wife used to tolerate it, but I know deep down she never liked it. My current lady totally understands why I hang here, and encourages me to do so. I guess she is fine with spending less time with me. Quote
Brad Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 My wife thinks that I (and my son) spend too much time on the web and has said recently that she'd like to chuck the computer. If she ever said it's the computer or her, well, I'd miss her Quote
mikeweil Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 As long as I get enough sleep she doesn't mind and appreciates the contacts and all. But she won't take the toilet seat up - nor do I as I do the housecleaning most of the time. You guys all wear gas masks when you pee? Quote
paul secor Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Every two or three days I hear, "What is this world that you're in?" Quote

Dennis_M Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 My wife thinks it's fine. At least I think she does. I'm sure she would prefer that I do this instead of something else. At least that's what I assume. Quote
SEK Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 My wife really likes my hanging out here. She digs the music, she enjoys Organissimo's latest CD, and she appreciates the things I print out from these forums (usually articles from the Politics forum and articles about her favorite musicians). She's usually a very busy person. Otherwise, she might visit here too. Quote
Jazz Kat Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 How about, "How does your MOM feel about you hangin here?" Quote
BeBop Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 My spouse is cool with it. My girlfriend, on the other hand... Quote
sheldonm Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 Mine doesn't really care but she thinks it's freaky when I tell her I'm going to hang out with someone I met here (abductors are know to hang on jazz boards). I've seen shows with Chuck, EJP626, Jazzshrink, Larry Kart, Uncle Skid, Rachel, Ghost, Jazz Messenger; stayed at Sal's house several times, am meeting JazzKrow and David Gitin in Monterey next month, gone boating with JazzTropic and this kinda freaks her.......I think she thinks I'll be abducted by some Jazz stalker???? When I told her I was going boating with JazzTropic although I had never met him face to face; she just knew I would end up as fish food on the bottom of the ocean! Quote
Uncle Skid Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 ... abducted by some Jazz stalker ... That really strikes me as funny for some reason... brings up a mental image a Kenny G fan being kidnapped and forced to listen to Albert Ayler or late Coltrane or something. My spouse used to think I was a bit crazy hanging out on line with a bunch of "jazz geeks". But after meeting and having dinner with Chuck and Ann (as well as Mr. and Mrs. Upright Bill, and catesta/Katrina), she sees that while were are all definitely jazz geeks, we aren't all that bad! It also gave her the opportunity to see that I'm not the only one buys tons of jazz CDs. The trick is to only hang out with board members who own *way* more CDs than I do!! Quote
Noj Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 All Kenny G noises are paired with an injection of lithium. Quote

chuckyd4 Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 My girlfriend will ocassionally peek over my shoulder and then go "ooOOooo... Organissimo" in that kind of voice little kids make when they do the "chuck and the O, sittin in a tree..." Sometimes I'll be telling a story about something "one of my friends" told me, and she'll ask if it's one of my "internet friends." Doesn't bother her really at all, though. She usually thinks the stuff I mention to her is pretty funny, and knows it's good for me to have other folks to get into all kinds of geeky musical discussions with. Quote
