As for Compadres, it is a mystery to me why the owners of Columbia haven't put out a boxed set of Brubeck's recordings with Gerry Mulligan. Maybe the original LPs didn't sell enough copies... Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted July 11, 2021 Report Posted July 11, 2021 (edited) Jack Quigley's masterpiece Class in Session has never been reissued on CD, to my knowledge. There is, however, a vinyl rip available on Qobuz. https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/way-out-hollywood-jack-quigley/j8ozebb8o22xb Edited July 11, 2021 by Teasing the Korean Quote
Stonewall15 Posted July 12, 2021 Report Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Dave Brubeck has passed. His family now has a website that memorializes him. Perhaps it is time to let an old grievance pass and issue "Last Time In Paris" as a CD. The music is terrific! Edited July 12, 2021 by Stonewall15 additional info. Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted August 7, 2021 Report Posted August 7, 2021 (edited) This is an amazing album. Lonnie Liston Smith-like grooves with instructions delivered in a lascivious manner. I have never passed up a copy of this LP. This is the only track I could find on the InterTubes. Edited August 7, 2021 by Teasing the Korean Quote

Can't find this earlier post of mine, but I don't know if Mustang! has made it to CD or not. Pretty nice LP as I recall. Quote
JSngry Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 Not that I can find, not even on PD EuroMusiPorn! It's a good record, Mustang is. Quote

Dave Brubeck told me that he had no interest in the reissue of The Last Time We Saw Paris or Jackpot! Live in Las Vegas. I seem to recall that he had bad memories of Paul Desmond's behavior during that European tour, while the sound of the new Baldwin baby grand on the Las Vegas LP was the pits, the piano couldn't hold a decent pitch.
