Z-Man
Vintage Audio Collection for sale I wonder if he has a Silvertone! If I only had lots more time and lots more money. (No relation to the seller, etc... )
StormP
I recognize the Dynaco stuff. You had to build that yourself. Does anybody in their right mind want to pay money for that? My antique JVC speakers pictured here are available to highest bidder. They are currently hanging from the ceiling.
Jazzmoose
I can't believe anyone would bid on this stuff. Anyone who would be interested in acquiring a collection like this odds are has already been collecting for years, and it seems to be too high for a reseller to be willing to wrap up the money. Looks like a "See what I got?" auction to me...
jazzbo
I pretty much agree with you there. There might be a dealer or store owner with enough coin that would want to have those Marantz and McIntosh items. . . they're well sought out items th at would individually go for some dollars. I grew up with a great Dynaco system built (and given to!) my Dad by an electrical engineer in his church who moved to England for work. . . It was the main system I learned to love music on and it sure sounded great! Started my love for tube amps that has remained with me whether for instruments or for stereos. -_-
Z-Man
I'm a sucker for vintage audio gear, though the only pieces I currently own are a floor-standing Victrola and the McIntosh MC-75s at the heart of my stereo system. Sure, it's an absurd auction, but boy would I love to cherry-pick some of that stuff...
wolff
Cool stuff, but I'd rather spend that kind of money on some absolutely amazing modern tube gear and speaker systems.
jazzbo
Me too! I've spent a LOT already on affordable modern tube gear and speakers that really makes my happy to turn on my stereo!
Stefan Wood
Cool stuff, but I'd rather spend that kind of money on some absolutely amazing modern tube gear and speaker systems. ← Absolutely! I love my HH Scott integrated, but to hear a Decware amp or something similar would be a dream......
