Alexander Hawkins
I did a brief search but didn't turn up anything substantial here about Borah Bergman. I just heard an excerpt from the album of Ornette tunes, which interested me enough to buy it - but does anyone else here have any specific recommendations? Thanks in advance, as always. clifford_thornton
I'm familiar with his work with saxophonist Tom Chapin (one on Boxholder that's still in print, another more obscure album whose name and label escape me). Concentrated yet liberated stuff, and worth checking out. Beyond that, though, I don't really know his playing too well.
Bright Moments
This one is EXCELLENT - Zorn's solos on track 5 is an added bonus to Bergman's AMAZING piano work.
AllenLowe
how is Borah these days? I used to go visit him on the West Side, but that musta been over 30 years ago.

It's from 1992, and is worth the search. Sadly, it's out of print, but should be relatively easy to find.
paul secor
Borah Bergman shared leadership with Roscoe Mitchell on this Kntting Factory cd. I've only listened to it once - time for another listen - but I remember having the sense that both musicians were listening to each other very closely. This was my only exposure to Mr. Bergman, so I have no idea if it's typical of his playing. Edited August 21, 2012 by paul secor

Justin V
I've been enjoying Bergman on Exhilaration, with Peter Brotzmann and Andrew Cyrille. Having only heard Brotzmann on Cecil Taylor's Olu Iwa, I was pleasantly surprised at how accessible Exhilaration is.
Afric Pepperbird
I've been enjoying Bergman on Exhilaration, with Peter Brotzmann and Andrew Cyrille. Having only heard Brotzmann on Cecil Taylor's Olu Iwa, I was pleasantly surprised at how accessible Exhilaration is. I'd recommend any Bergman with Brotzmann. Beside the above, there are the wonderful Blue Zoo, and Ride Into the Blue.
