Ed S Posted August 2, 2005 Author Report Posted August 2, 2005 And Pacific Jazz Piano Trio fans like me ← You beat me to that one! Nice lineup of upcoming sets, I'd say. Quote
Jim Dye Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Whoo Hoo! The Twardzik's coming out again! Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 That page is so nice to see. There's something for everyone, it seems (all right, maybe not the hardcore avant garde folks). Even though I already have some of just about all of these, there's quite a few little additions that are going to make these tough to resist. Mike Quote
B. Goren. Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Tolliver, Tyner & Rich are the sets for me. I have to start saving my $$$ and I have no idea how I'm gonna feed my kids.... Quote
ASNL77 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Oh yeah - Oliver Nelson ← +1. I am going to love this one. The good news is that all these sets (boxes or selects) interest me, the bad news is that all these sets (boxes or selects) interest me! Quote
Little High People Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Anyone know what that Tony Williams stuff is like? Never checked out his 80's BN stuff. Quote
BFrank Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Anyone know what that Tony Williams stuff is like? Never checked out his 80's BN stuff. ← It's fairly straight ahead Messengers-style jazz. Nice to see that getting released again. It's been OOP for far too long. FWIW, my best friends' wife did the original cover photography for all of those albums. Quote
Dan Gould Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Definitely things of interest here but most of all, Mosaic deserves a for creating this new web page in the first place. Quote
BeBop Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 This will be useful in my personal cash flow forecasting exercises. Quote
Brad Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 (edited) This will be useful in my personal cash flow forecasting exercises. ← What forecast? That just went out the window, man. Now, I don't feel so bad about passing up the O'Day set because there are some serious sets that I will be picking up or getting as presents. At the top of my list in the scheduled releases will be the Jazz Piano Trios although if truth be told I'll want to buy everything else. Not sure about the Rich, but what the hell, I'll probably ante up. On the future projects, what is there not to buy? Edited August 2, 2005 by Brad Quote
J.A.W. Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 On the future projects, what is there not to buy? ← As far as I'm concerned quite a lot, actually, like for instance the Rich, Tyner, the Jazz Crusaders, and one or two others. Quote
Matthew Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Oh yeah - Oliver Nelson ← +1. I am going to love this one. The good news is that all these sets (boxes or selects) interest me, the bad news is that all these sets (boxes or selects) interest me! ← I'm also interested in this one, but, I must admit, I am underwhelmed by Nelson's work on the Jimmy Smith records; too many stock arrangments to my taste. Now, the Chu Berry set sounds like it will be a wonder to listen to. Quote
Adam Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 heck, i'm looking forward to the Bechet Select! Quote
jazzbo Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 Bechet! I guess I'm most excited about this, as I have a lion's share of the material in the other sets. . . . Quote
7/4 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 The Tyner and Williams sets look interesting. Quote
brownie Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 ...and still not a word on the Erroll Garner Columbia box project Quote
