Anyone pick this one up yet?

I grabbed it when I was up in Montreal a few weeks ago, but I think it just came out in the states. I'm digging the hell out of it, but I'm a big Truffaz fan - Nya and all. Truffaz' music takes me to a place - especially loud and late at night - that is almost transcendental. But that's just me.

I like this quite a bit too, there's a nice trippy vibe to it. Has anyone ever seen Truffaz perform live? I was wondering how this music sounded in a live setting

You might like Rollin', recently released in the U.S. on Blue Note--all the songs are from classic foreign film soundtracks.

Acclaimed French trumpeter Erik Truffaz returns to Blue Note with an album that adds his unique touch to music featured in his favorite films from the golden age of cinema. Truffaz offers compelling new interpretations of themes from classic movies including La Strada, L’Ascenseur Pour L’Echafaud, River of No Return, Le Casse & more

Tracklist:

1. La Strada
2. Rut Ascenseur Pour L’Echafaud
3. Theme de Fantômas
4. One Silver Dollar (River of No Return) feat Camelia Jordana
5. Persuader’s Theme (The Persuader’s)
6. Route de Nuit (Les Tontons Flingeurs)

Someone to rave about.  I like his tone and style.
Favourite tune: "Giuseppe" (from In Between, 2010)
Using banjo for rhythm  is couragous and - done in this way - ravishing:
sort of folksy ambient jazz.
There´s a lot to discover in Truffaz´ discography.

I have nothing against Truffaz, but why is the copy always so cliché? 🙂

I asked Microsoft Copilot "Could you please rewrite the following copy so that it becomes more hyperbolic and over-the-top?"

The response:

Absolutely, let's dial up the excitement to eleven!

"Prepare yourself for an unparalleled auditory adventure as the legendary French trumpeter Erik Truffaz makes a triumphant return to Blue Note, bringing his extraordinary genius to the music of cinema's golden age! In this breathtaking album, Truffaz performs electrifying and spellbinding reinterpretations of iconic themes from cinematic masterpieces like La Strada, L’Ascenseur Pour L’Echafaud, River of No Return, Le Casse, and more. Each track is an unforgettable, soul-stirring journey that will leave you in awe. Don't just listen – immerse yourself in a musical odyssey that only Erik Truffaz can deliver!"
