Dan Gould Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 I found a compilation CD titled "Dinner Jazz" which has a Three Sounds recorded but I can't figure out if this is something not previously issued or what. For the life of me I can't find it, though I've only looked at the BN recordings. But judging from the track list of the entire CD, it seems to be Capital-related: Quote I'm Just a Lucky So & So - Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington Dear Old Stockholm - Miles Davis You Go to My Head - Stan Getz You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You - Nat King Cole Trio Trane's Blues - John Coltrane Willow Weep for Me - Dexter Gordon Blues Ain't Nothin' But a Woman Cryin' for Her Man - Dinah Washington Easy Living - Ike Quebec Midnight Blue - Kenny Burrell I Can't Get Started - Chet Baker Driftin' - Herbie Hancock Dance of the Infidels - Bud Powell You're a Heavenly Thing - Mel Torme Lazy Afternoon - Grant Green Stranger in Paradise - Wes Montgomery You're Getting to Be a Habit With Me - Peggy Lee Moanin' - Art Blakey & the Jazz Mesengers Blue Silver - Horace Silver Major's Minor - Stanley Turrentine They Call It Stormy Monday - Lou Rawls In a Sentimental Mood - Duke Ellington Stompin' at the Savoy - Art Pepper Black Fox - Gene Harris & the Three Sounds I Didn't Know What Time It Was ( Too Many Girls) - Jimmy Smith On Green Dolphin Street - George Shearing With Nancy Wilson Wrap Up Your Troubles in Dreams - Coleman Hawkins These Foolish Things - Stephane Grappelli & Yehudi Menuhin I Cover the Waterfront - Art Tatum One for Daddy-O - Cannonball Adderly Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye - Sarah Vaughan -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can anyone figure out where this tune might have come from? Given the rest of the tracks, it seems highly unlikely that its from his 70s disco-funk era, but I'm at a loss as to where this tune came from. Thanks! Quote

Dan Gould Posted July 25, 2005 Author Report Posted July 25, 2005 Thanks - those were the two BNs I skipped, figuring it wasn't on them. Quote
