cannonball-addict
where is the website that shows how to tell if an album is an original pressing or a later reissue/or what era its from? I googled creatively for the last half-hour and am at my wits end!!!! cannonball-addict

cannonball-addict
That means today I bought an original pressing in VG (very good) condition of this Stanley Turrentine's Joyride for $5. Did I get a deal or what?
DrJ
Honestly if it's truly only VG condition in terms of how it plays, not really a great deal IMHO. Not a bad price either, but a true VG (per Goldmine rating) is kinda trashed audio wise. However, if it LOOKS VG but plays VG+ or NM on the other hand then you got yourself quite a deal! Do let us know.
sidewinder
Mono originals of this one in reasonable condition sound pretty damn nice !

cannonball-addict
It is mono. And it sounds great despite clearly having some scuffs and minor scratches. Where can I take it to get it appraised? Should my local vinyl emporium be able to grade it? And by the way, this place is holding an auction until August 3: http://www.jerrysrecords.com/auction.html

Should my local vinyl emporium be able to grade it? Most Stanley Turrentine albums were among BN bestsellers. They were pretty widely distributed. Nothing really rare about this one, even in mono. Forget about investments. Just be glad you got the vinyl at that price and ENJOY IT! It's a good one! That's my 2 cents! OK, make it 3 cents!
