Chuck Nessa Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 And here is special guest Dan Jacobs. None of you guys had to listen to him giving Lazaro lessons. -_- Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Here's a pic of the friggin' drummer and his daddy. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 For my last posting of pics from the session (I want to extend a ton of thanks to Ann for the shots) I now show the downfall of Lazaro Vega. He was eliminated in the first round of the shirt contest. Quote
Joe G Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Mark and I went out in the second round... Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Mark and I went out in the second round... ← I went out next, followed by Mark and then you. I'm really sick of you "self deprecating" guys - and I really liked your shirt. Quote
Joe G Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 My bad. So crushed by my defeat at the hands of two flower-shirted upstarts I was that I'd forgotten all else. I'll remember to be more "self-appreciating" from now on. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Stupid, friggin' me. I just realized I forgot the two pics I meant to open with. Arno diggin' in. Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Nice job Ann... Of course when Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp is "in session" all employees wear the standard issue "baby 'n navy" in various blends of durable polyester. Striking a match near by would be bad for everyone. Quote
.:.impossible Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Nice photos! I can't wait to hear the recording! Looking forward to the disc as well! Quote
Joe G Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Arno diggin' deeper. As Harold "Popeye" Booker would say, "Yea, baby!" Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Nice pics! Great job, Ann! As Joe said earlier, it was the perfect way to cap off a fantastic week of music! Dan Jacobs sounded fabulous! We should have him up front with Arno next year on the tour! Trumpet/tenor frontline, organ trio backline... what can be better? Quote
Jim Dye Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Of course when Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp is "in session" all employees wear the standard issue "baby 'n navy" in various blends of durable polyester. Striking a match near by would be bad for everyone. ← I could probably dig out my old Blue Lake shirt if I wen't deep into my attic. I attended camp more than 20 years ago! Great pics! I'm still very bummed that I couldn't catch you guys. Very much looking forward to the record. Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Jim, they haven't changed a bit in 20 years. You'd fit right in. When you go to the streaming page, there's a second link which you might try... Quote

Great way to end the tour... Pops hated to get on that plane back to the blazing hot Nevada desert where all there is are casinos, lizards, cactus, rattle snakes, jack rabbits, and old keno tickets.. Soulstation1 Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 jim i hope you always wear clean socks when you play what happened to those mj thriller socks?? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Jim did not have the blue neon lights (under the consol) on. That organ is a real "ricer" on the gigs. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 jim was moving the hammond easy for this gig? is the back better? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Well, they had a ramp into the building, so that makes it better! It's always a pain getting it in and out of the van. The back is doing ok. I was just looking at A100's on eBay. I'd really like to find one and take the internal speakers/amps out of it and use that on the road. The B3, as cool as it is, isn't really made for moving all over the place. Mine is getting really wobbily. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 (edited) jim i had a dream the other night, we were talking about "smokin' section" regarding the changes and stuff on the organ i guess i understood what you were talkin' 'bout ss1 Edited July 17, 2005 by Soulstation1 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 You're spending too much time on the board, my friend. Quote
