robert h. Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 I have the DSD Japanese mini=lp version (before that I had both the Japanese Mastersound 20bit SBM and the Miles/Coltrane box - of which the 20bit SBM bettered the box, and the DSD bettered them both) - the new one is clearly a new remaster and is very good, even better than the DSD. Quincy Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 As CJ noted the last single disc issue of 'Round About Midnight (CK 85201) is also a "24-bit super bit mapping by Mark Wilder." Some of the single disc reissues had their bit rates bumped up from how they are presented on the boxes. As it appears everything Miles on Columbia ends up at Yourmusic.com, I'm going to wait this one out. Quote
Brad Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 I bought this for $20 so no complaints here. The live disc is good, worth picking up if you're into Miles. There's a different version of Salt Peanuts and really liked Woody 'N You. How often does an unheard Miles session come along, esp. from the 50s? Not often, it's like the Town Hall Concert of Bird's in my view. A worthy pickup. Quote
