catesta Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 A terrible situation. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of London. Quote
ghost of miles Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 They're now reporting 40 dead, 300 wounded. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences to our UK friends. Quote
B. Goren. Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 I would like to express my profound condolences to the English people. Believe me; I know exactly how they feel. Be strong. Quote
Big Al Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 My thoughts and prayers are with the folks in London today as well. Fucking cowards, whoever did this. Quote
Guy Berger Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Jesus... my condolences for all Londoners, and Brits in general. Guy Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 (edited) Very sad news. But then it's a very sad world we are forced to live in today. Hopefully the spineless bastards get caught real fast. I worked 5 blocks from the 9-11 attack in NYC. You are left with a sense of helplessness at this moment. My prayers go out to the victim’s families. Edited July 7, 2005 by Hardbopjazz Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Seeing many of the Brits checking in here is good to see at a time like this. My thoughts are with you all. Damn. Quote
nmorin Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 And now the alert level in the US is being raised to orange. Quote
RDK Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Glad to hear that our British board members are okay. My thoughts are with you and all Londoners. This was horrible news to wake up to here. Sadly, I can't help but think: welcome to the 21st century; we'd all better get used to it. Quote
jazzypaul Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 add me to the well wishers for the Londoners on the board. This is terrible, and my thoughts and prayers go out to you. Quote
Noj Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 My condolences to the families of the dead and wounded. I hope justice catches up with the cowards responsible. Have all our Londoners been accounted for? Please continue to check in. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Selfish of me, I know, but I sure hope those over there that we know are alright, along with their families and friends. Quote
sal Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 My thoughts are with all our friends in London, as well as those with family there. This is terrible. Quote
sidewinder Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Wow.. Just read that that bus explosion was in Tavistock Square. Must have walked through there hundreds of times as a student at UCL (admittedly many years ago now). This is just tragic. London has seen such incidents before though and what they tend to do is double the resolve against the perpetrators Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Can I just add my hope that all London members are OK. Quote
Clunky Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 This is just so tragic, the minor inconvenience I've had over the last few days over G8 protests here in Edinburgh, fade into total insignificance compared to this dreadful act of cowardice. Quote
Johnny E Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 I hope that they can round up and punish these barbaric murders. How can people be so inhumane? Quote
Rosco Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 I hope that they can round up and punish these barbaric murders. How can people be so inhumane? ← It's quite possible these people are no longer around to be rounded up if the rumours about suicide bombers are true. These people truly believe they will be rewarded in the afterlife for their actions. That's what you're up against. People sacrificing their own lives for what they believe is a holy mission. Quote

People sacrificing their own lives for what they believe is a holy mission. ← I've been in NYC all day. Pretty quiet. I'm under the impression that the one that went off on the bus was an accident on it's way to the subway. Other than that incident, were these really suicide attacks? Quote

A quick look at the NY Times didn't really answer my question and this wasn't the kind of day where I could surf more than a bit. Quote
