Limit this to pianists and guitarists. My favorite is...... sal Posted June 30, 2005 Report Share Posted June 30, 2005 Herbie Hancock and McCoy Tyner are my favorites, although I only recently realized how brilliant Hank Jones is as well. His comping on the new Joe Lovano CD really caught my ear, and after going back and re-listening to all the Hank Jones in my collection, its clear that he's one of the best. Uh yeah anyways, I must give props to Chick Corea. His comping on the Akoustic Band CD with Patitucci and Weckl is amazing (yes, obviously when John solos).
