chuckyd4 Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Kind of on that same topic, I just got a tape of a show of the Woody Shaw quartet with Muhal Richard Abrams on piano (thanks Relyles!!!). I'm *very* interested to hear how Abrams will do in this context. I don't think I've ever heard him in such a straight ahead setting (though of course Shaw could play more "out" when he wanted to). clifford_thornton Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 I never did hear Taylor with Frank Wright- did they ever record it? ← Uhuru Na Umoja, America LP 6104, reissued by Universal on the Free America series. I believe there are other recordings unissued, but the session that yields this and the Noah Howard LP Space Dimension (not on the CD) are the only extant recordings I know of. Good shit. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 I still haven't done that, even while professing some curiosity on this board... Too much to listen to, and it never ends. Nevertheless, if someone has some Experimental Band rehearsal tapes they'd like to send me, I will send my heartfelt thanks... Quote
