RonF
I know, it's become a commercialized joke. But aren't they all? Have a good one!

Son-of-a-Weizen
My Dad's a riot! He actually sent me the Father's Day gift this year --- a t-shirt & some rib recipes from the New England Barbeque Society's cook off up in NH last weekend. Naturally he had to enclose the photo he snapped of the reigning Miss New Hampshire.

7/4
I hope everybody had a good one. I just got back from dinner at my parents, but yesterday I gave my Dad a ride to White Plains, NY - about an hour and a half North of here. He's 76 and since his heart opperation two years ago and cancer surgery four years ago, not only is he still not 100%, but probably never will be. Problems seeing, standing for long periods of time and so on. Good thing I drove, he knew the way there and the address, but not know where the exact address was in town. If it wasn't last minute, I would have MapQuest'ed it. Woulda...shoulda...we found it. He had a meeting with a historical research group and publishes papers in these little booklets. While they were meeting, I walked around town for a few hours and when I got back I had a seat downstairs until they were done. Turns out they had him read his paper and he was very happy how everything turned out after months of hard work. Plus he was exhausted from all the standing and talking. It would have been a dangerous drive home. At last count he's thanked me about eight times and my Mother has rang up four or five thank yous. Priceless. Alexander
We had a great day! My daughter and I played all morning, we went to the park this afternoon and out for Japanese for dinner (yum, yum!). Best father's day a dad could have... Jim Alfredson
Today was pretty good. My wife made me a nice dinner, but I've been couch-laden with horrible back pain all day. I hurt my back last Saturday moving the B3 and haven't had time to rest it, I've been playing one or two gigs a day since then. Thankfully, my next hit isn't until Thursday. ghost of miles
Spent some time w/my dad, one of my brothers & his wife, and my wife & my grandmother watching the last two hours of the U.S. Open, giving Dad the OOP Criterion Hitchcock box, and chowing down at a local Italian eatery. We had Japanese for dinner, and also got to see Cedar Walton! My wife, son, daughter and I all went to Chicago for the day -- checked out the Shedd Aquarium, went to the Jazz Showcase, and ate some teriffic sushi. Didn't get to the Jazz Record Mart before they closed for the day, but that's OK as that surely saved me some $$$!
Johnny E
My wife made me breakfast, I relaxed and watched the ballgame on tv, played with Milo and then got treated to a wonderful Thai dinner. Nice. Here's some of the fun I had.....
Don Brown
A little late getting into this, I realize, but what the hell. Last night my daughter took me out for dinner to a local Japanese restaurant here in Toronto - Gojima. After ordering our drinks we decided to order the large sashimi "boat". After taking my daughter's order, the waiter, a young man obviously from Japan, returned to the table to make sure she knew sashimi was raw fish. "Yes, I know that," said she, and off the waiter went to the kitchen. At this point, my daughter, whose late mother was Japanese, asked if I thought she looked Asian. I told her I did, but obviously the waiter didn't. The sashimi was wonderful.
