For a number of my early years I would refuse to eat what Mom cooked for dinner, and I'd have cereal instead.  It got to the point that Mom would often tease me and refer to me as her "grain-fed child."

Cookie Crisp, Cocoa Pebbles, Cocoa Puffs, Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Corn Pops are among my favorites, but I'm just as happy with Corn Flakes, Cheerios, or Kix.

My parents would've put up with that for about, oh... two seconds. I remember the ONE time I refused to eat what my mom made for dinner. Guess what I got instead? Nothing and a trip to my bed.

I still remember how much my stomach hurt and how hungry I was all night. It only took once and from then on out I ate what my mom put in front of me.

My parents were happy just to get everyone fed. 5 other kids besides me (two brothers, two aunts, and a uncle). I was the "baby." I got pampered like crazy, it's probably why I'm not independent yet.

Wheat chex is probably my fav these days....With the "low" sugar Frosted Flakes a nice treat...I like Puffed wheat, but.....if you eat too much of it(No calories to speak of) your urine smells like the cereal.... :w

Uncle Sam cereal usually works like Phil Hartman's "Colon Blow" for me.

That's the idea! I think it's the flax seed. Anyway, I think that's why Kellogg encouraged his patients/clients to start the day with cereal.

It's my bedtime, and I thought I would try something new for a midnight snack, so tonight for the first time in my life I had some Post Grape-Nuts.

Eww! I know it's whole grain and good for you, but I can't understand why there has been a demand for it for almost a century.

Next time for a change from my usual Uncle Sam, I'm going to go for that great European favorite Familia! Yum!

For the last 30 odd years, I've started the day with a pint of squeezed orange juice and a bowl of Wally's Deluxe Muesli. Wally's is a deli in Cardiff which makes its own recipe for Muesli and it's great! Wheat & barley flakes, raisins, jumbo & porridge oats, hazelnuts, dates, Brazil nuts and a bit of vegetable oil. Fantastic! I think a 2kg bag lasts me about a fortnight.

Best of all, Wally's is only 20 yards from Spillers record shop!

Weetbix: one bite + one big sip of full-cream milk...delicious

..but that was years ago. Stay away from almost all grain-based foods now, and am largely cured of my daily sinus/flu. -_-

Simple - the shelf life is infinite. There's no such thing as stale Grape Nuts. How could you tell?

Or maybe... I was thinking how Grape Nuts in England taste better than in North America. Is it because they had time to mature?

And I guess two ball references coupled with an audible crunch just turns some people off.
