It´s a 2 CD release on RTVE-Música (the label from Spanish public TV and radio) with unissued Tete Montoliu material. I still don´t know anything more about it, but will receive a review copy in a few days.

It is the first volume of a collection called "Jazz en España", that will pay tribute to the main Spanish jazz artists (and non-Spanish artists that contributed to Spanish jazz scene), bringing to light unreleased stuff from RNE vaults.

If the photo on the cover was taken while playing this new material, it´s late, very late Tete (I´d say later than 1995, probably even 1997, the year of his death). But this is just a supposition.

BTW: volume 2 on this collection is dedicated to saxophonist Pedro Iturralde.

Have you heard this? I am quite a fan of both the "Jazz Flamenco Vols. 1 & 2" and the Iturralde/Hampton Hawes CDs released on Spanish Blue Note!

Spanish BN? I have that Iturralde/Hawes meeting on Hispavox/Fresh Sound vinyl, a February 1968 date. BN issued that too?!?

I'm not sure if it was EMI España, in fact, but some European EMI, yes:

tracklist:

01 - On Green Dolphin Street

02 - Black Forest Blues (hampton Hawes Blues)

03 - Autumn Leaves

04 - Oleo

05 - Moonlight In Vermont

06 - My Funny Valentine

The 2003 date there is for the download-version, I assume, not for the CD release, which must have been around 1997 (going from memory).

French Amazon has little info, but it says "Bluen" there.

Same album - and same six tunes - except mine is on vinyl!

The logo on the right hand corner of the cover of that Iturralde/Hawes is definetely Blue Note!

The vinyl I have has the same cover (with a 'Hispavox Special Edition for Fresh Sound Records' logo instead of the BN one)!

Interesting Fresh Sound/BN connection

Blute Note / EMI it is, for sure, but I'll have to look up from what country it came from - I strongly think from Spain, though!

Alright, I have my disc in front of me, now (the Iturralde/Hawes, taht is), and it remains misterious: the Blue Note logo, as you can see on the jpg above, is clearly there, on the spine it says BN, too, the CD has the usual BN design (black/silver, in this case)... but: nowhere is any connection to Blue Note or EMI noted.

Here's the info from the CD (same in booklet, on traycard, and on CD itself):

(P) Grabaciones sonoras originales realizdadas por HISPAVOX S.A., 1968

(P) Publicado por HISPAVOX S.A. Madrid (España), 1997

© De la presente edición HISPAVOX S.A., Madrid (España), 1997

Printed in Holland

No idea if Hispavox is part of EMI or what's the deal here.

Very same blurb on the Blue Note edition of "Jazz Flamenco Vols. 1 & 2" (what a marvellous disc that on!), btw.
