leftshu Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 (edited) The other day a package was left on my porch. It was marked from Mosaic but I did not place the order. My wife informed me that my kids went together and ordered the set for fathers day. Every day I see that package on the kitchen table. Fathers day is a few weeks away and I'm chompin' at the bit to spin these disks. Anyone have this set? What's your take? Counting the days... Edited June 6, 2005 by leftshu Quote

jazzydaddy Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 You are in for a real treat. This is actually one of my favorite Mosaic sets. Some really great arrangements and totally outlandish big band jazz packed in there. The kids got great taste!! Don Quote
tranemonk Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 It's a really good set... There's a few songs which are a dud but overall... a B/B+ .. see the previous threads when I was thinking about it... http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...1&st=&p=entry http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...l=gerald+wilson Quote
leftshu Posted June 7, 2005 Author Report Posted June 7, 2005 Thanks to you all for the good words on this set. My kids are thoughtful but my wife is the one who gave them the idea. I am a lucky man. Counting the days... Quote
Alfred Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 It is a nice set ... BUT this album is not included: This is my favorite one w/ Wilson arrangements. This means that you also need the Carmell Jones Mosaic Select! -_- Quote
BFrank Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Speaking of Wilson arrangements, I highly recommend this album. 12 of the 17 tracks are arranged by Gerald and the rest by Oliver Nelson. Quote
