Ron S Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 (edited) Just noticed this. Mosaic Last Chance page Edited June 2, 2005 by Ron S Quote
king ubu Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 ouch - another few dozens of $$ gone... placed an order immediately, couldn't take another one that I miss (like I did with the Herman). Quote
sidewinder Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 A wise move King Ubu - this one is not to be missed ! Quote
king ubu Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 A wise move King Ubu - this one is not to be missed ! ← This is one that was on my wantlist since day one, so it would be too bad to miss it! Also I have the live set (old issue, don't feel a need to replace it) and enjoy it quite some. Then the "Motor City" disc, too... and "Fuego", which is - Byrd-wise, at least - comparable. Also that Conn... enjoy all of them, so this is a must! Quote
sidewinder Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Yes, this is a Mosaic that seems to get mixed reviews but I love it ! I have some duplication with original LPs such as 'Royal Flush' but its great to have all of the music in one set and the sound is pretty damn nice. That session 'The Creeper' with Corea on piano is also not to be missed. Quote

ASNL77 Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 I have all the albums apart from 'Chant' and The Creeper'. Are these two OOP? I can't see myself spending $64 for only two albums unless ......you all convince me! How are these two sessions? Quote
JSngry Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Well, I have'em all except Off To The Races and Byrd In Hand, so I guess I have most of the material as well. But "most" is not "all", and "Last Chance" doesn't mean "Take your time, Bosco, we'll save one for ya' for when you're good and ready to buy it", so... Oh well, I was just gonna buy crack with that money anyway... Quote

mgraham333 Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 This is one of the first sets I bought and remains one of my favorites. Quote
BFrank Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 DAMN! I'll have to place my order posthaste! Yet the Mobley set is still IN print! Quote
ASNL77 Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 (edited) Could not resist.....I have just placed my order! Edited June 2, 2005 by ASNL77 Quote
Ron S Posted June 2, 2005 Author Report Posted June 2, 2005 Yet the Mobley set is still IN print! ← Not to mention the Johnson set--my next Mosaic purchase (to be accelerated if it, too, goes into "Last Chance"). Quote
Bright Moments Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Could not resist.....I have just placed my order! ← put my order in. thanks Ron for the heads up! Quote
sidewinder Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Did anyone else notice the strange coincidence between king ubu announcing he had just bought the set and the Board seizing up? Quote
king ubu Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Did anyone else notice the strange coincidence between king ubu announcing he had just bought the set and the Board seizing up? ← Maybe I should have sent the $$ to Jim instead of Mosaic? Only then I'd not get the box... Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 do i need some new clothes or this mosaic set?? Quote
Ron S Posted June 3, 2005 Author Report Posted June 3, 2005 do i need some new clothes or this mosaic set?? Just use the box like a loin cloth, and kill 2 birds (as opposed to Byrds) with one stone. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 a review from a loyal mosaic customer Da word Iz Byrd HELL yeah. NO one tops the DB. This is one of the only other Mosaics of late that might even out shit the Mobley set. Not to dis the Mobe or anything! In fact, the two sets share a lot of players. Its all good. norffecira@yahoo.com Quote
