Ed S Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Checked my email - got the shipping notice. Excellent timing. They'll get here before I leave for Montreal - which means I'll be able to give them a good listen on my drive there. Quote
jazzbo Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 My wife, who is home sick (I'm sort of in the dog house because I was sick the week before last and early last week and somehow I'm being blamed for making her sick!) called to say my Freddie Slack arrived! Wish I could go home early. . . in fact. . . I have to stay late! Quote
Brad Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I received the Richards and spun it a little bit. The music is a little to say, unusual. Not your normal orchestrations. Quote
chuckyd4 Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I'll skip both and wait for the Piano set (Clare Fischer, Rowles, etc) that they said (today) is still on track for Oct. ← Clare Fischer and Jimmy Rowles on one piano set? Sorry to be a pain, but where did you hear about this set? Those are two of my favorite "undersung" musicians, and will absolutely start salivating when I get some more info on this one. What period? What label(s)? Tease... Quote

I'll hunt around and see if I can find the thread on which this was originally mentioned. Quote
ghost of miles Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Found the old thread about it. In the meantime, still hoping the Slack/Richards sets show up today--eager in particular to hear the Richards. And I really hope that Mosaic does something with "the Fischer orchestral stuff," as alluded to in that older thread. Quote
