Edward
As already mentioned by others, it would probably be smart to focus on acquiring the limited edition OJC's before the regular OJC's; but considering alldirect's prices, the regular OJC's presented a far greater bargain. At any rate, I ordered the following for $92.33 delivered: Shorty & Doc - Harold "Shorty" Baker/Doc Cheatham Sweets - Harry "Sweets" Edison Together Again - Teddy Edwards/Howard McGhee Sittin' In - Gillespie/Getz/Hawkins Snap Your Fingers - Al Grey The Green Leaves Of Summer - Hampton Hawes Plays Gerry Mulligan Arrangements - Gene Krupa Maggie's Back In Town - Howard McGhee Joe Newman Quintet at Count Basie's In The Solo Spotlight - Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All-Stars Volume 6 - Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All-Stars Blue Stompin' - Hal Singer/Charlie Shavers

mgraham333
Has anyone's online order shipped yet? I placed an order early Thursday the 26th (all items in-stock) and my order status is still stuck on "processing". I realize we're just coming off a holiday weekend, but I kind of expected some movement by now.

I even made a change to my order when one indicated 7-14. Now going back to their site I notice that one of my items says 7-14. I guess there was a mad rush on, Junior's Cookin'. Seems like many items are not expected to be ready for 7-14 days. ← My order has shipped (ordered on the 26th, shipped on the 27th) and I purposely selected items that were marked "in stock". I'm curious to see if they restock the others, or if this is some kind of a "closeout", which I am hopeful is not the case. I admit my OJC purchases reflect a bit of apocalyptic paranoia. Big Wheel
I'm pretty sure this can't completely be a closeout as the Columbias are also covered in the sale and most of those aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
GA Russell
I placed my order on Saturday the 28th, and it was shipped today the 31st (the first day the mails were open). Now we'll see how long it takes to get here.
GA Russell
Talk about fast service! My order arrived yestserday afternoon, two days after it was shipped. The bad news is that every jewel case is damaged, some worse than others. But I don't worry about that; I have a box of jewel cases from BJ's. Right now I'm listening to Soft Machine Third, which I haven't heard in a long while. Great music!
Jazzmoose
That is bad news. But at these prices I guess I'll live with it.

Quincy
Is anyone else who placed an order still awaiting shipping or an e-mail saying your order is shipping? I ordered on 5/27 and every selection was supposed to be in stock. Going to their site says they're still processing the order. I suppose if I don't hear from them on Monday I'll nag them. At least I haven't been charged.

BbM7
I'm a little surprised, but not worried. I'm surprised because J&R is usually prompt, based on many dozens of order I've placed there over 20 years or so. I'm guessing that orders have significantly exceeded stock and that the company is reliant on suppliers. (This was probably the plan all along.) I'm not worried because, as I say, they always seem to come through.
Big Al
My order (placed on 5/27) supposedly shipped out on Friday the 3rd via UPS. We shall see..... I think the delay was due to one item not being in stock; according to the website, it would've shipped in 7-14 business days, so everything seems to be right on schedule. kulu se mama
i was going to ask about shipping today, and it looks like others beat me to it. my order (10 cd's) supposedly shipped on 6/2. so far it has not arrived.
Jazzmoose
Mine is still unshipped. Better not wait too long boys; with that Byrd/Adams set running out and calling to me, I won't wait forever...
chris olivarez
I've just made my first visit to this site-good god!!!!! It appears to me the vast majority of the OJC's have the dreaded "special order" designation. Is it not to far off base to think this another way of saying-they're good as gone? I also checked out the Blue Note site on J&R and are all those cd's still in print or are they just funnin' with old Chris?

I also checked out the Blue Note site on J&R and are all those cd's still in print or are they just funnin' with old Chris? ← I think that the fact of the matter is that JRR probably had light stock on most Fantasy titles and a lot of jazz fans took advantage of its great sale. My still un-shipped order includes 7 OJC's, all of which are now listed as usually shipping within 7-14 days. When I placed my order, only one or two of these titles had this inventory status. Chuck Nessa
Back during their "Free America" sale, after about a month waiting, one of their phone people told me "in stock" meant they could order it.
Free For All
My order of June 1st is still "processing". I'm wondering how much time to give them before I pull the plug. It's not that I'm impatient, it's just that I'm leaving town soon for a week and don't want it sitting on my doorstep for days. I'm hoping it ships soon, 'cause there are some titles I really would like to get on CD. Especially at that price. BTW, what's the diff between and ? Does winky just have higher blood pressure? I call this one "A Fun Visit To Stinky, The Bashful Proctocologist".
Ron S
I call this one "A Fun Visit To Stinky, The Bashful Proctocologist". ← You are one sick puppy. And by the way, they don't call themselves proctologists anymore (probably because of all the jokes). They're now known as gastrointestinal surgeons. Try using THAT in a punchline. Jazzmoose
Hmmph. Just got two emails from J&R today. One telling me that eight of my CDs ordered shipped, the other telling me that the other five were cancelled...
Free For All
Mine finally shipped today as well, although two of the CDs I ordered were cancelled. No big deal, although both were new releases and seem to be readily available. I think the membership here put the screws to J&R's sale pretty good!
