Guy Berger Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Prediction: assuming Wade is not a complete cripple tonight (he WILL play regardless), we may see something like the Jordan flu game or the Isiah Thomas ankle sprain game. Guy Quote
BruceW Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 (edited) What is Shaq in NOT getting to game 7's and losing series?? Edited June 6, 2005 by BruceW Quote
Noj Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 I really have no idea, there's so many variables. Is Wade healthy enough to perform? Will the home team get the home cookin' from the refs, or will it be evenly called? Will the Heat role players be up to the challenge now that the chips are down? I'd give a slight edge to the Pistons, but I know the Diesel will be bringing the thunder tonight. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Shaq deserves to be fined. But the league doesn't have the balls to do it. They pick on 'Sheed instead. Quoth Shaq last Friday (the day the league handed down Sheed's fine): "I'm the Diesel," he said. "I'm just being me. You guys are the ones that vote for defensive player of the year and the (bleep) awards that you all be handing out." Okay, there's using profane language to the media. The NBA said that's one of the reasons they fined 'Sheed. "I just wished the game was called consistently. What I mean by that is, we bump (them) and they go to the line. When they bump us, we want the same respect. That's called consistency." Calling out the refs, even more blatant than 'Sheed's remarks. So why no fine? 'Cos he's "The Diesel". Pistons are gonna whoop some ass tonight. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 6, 2005 Author Report Posted June 6, 2005 i have shaq's playoff record as 18-2 the past 6 seasons 4-0 in 2000 4-0 in 2001 4-0 in 2002 1-1 in 2003 (lost spurs second round) 3-1 in 2004 (lost pistons finals) 2-0 in 2005 Quote

Soulstation1 Posted June 6, 2005 Author Report Posted June 6, 2005 i hope 'sheed gets tossed tonight i predict one more tech for his ass tonight Quote
AmirBagachelles Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Only Jordan, and maybe Isiah in the last few decades have gotten the whole thing done nearly by themselves (without co-dominators), but I really don't mean to demean those great Bulls years/teams. The Pistons last three championships have been paragons of five-man ball, intense defense. Other teams don't seem to be able to use the same success formula. The record shows that Shaq's teams win when there is at least a dominant guard teammate for him to pair with. Spotty record without. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 6, 2005 Author Report Posted June 6, 2005 i will be able to see this game LIVE, i just was able to switch days i could watch the game at work if it was on regular "free" tv, not tnt Quote

AmirBagachelles Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Agreed. (And didn't Shaq play with Penny Hardaway in Orlando? He really dealt for a few yrs there.) Quote

But he's going downhill (1-1 in 2003 and 3-1 in 2004.) Toss 2005 stats out the window so far as meaningless. It's the final two series which mean anything. You can count a series victory over Washington if you like, but it proves nothing. My prediction this evening is the Pistons will win. I think they've got the experience. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Wade is injured and plays impaired. Keep your eye on Billups tonight. He's gonna be the man. (Tayshaun is always the man.) Quote

Guy Berger Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Great game so far. Big Wheel Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Whoa, that was a huge block to end the quarter. The 4th is gonna be crazy. Quote

Noj Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Poor Damon Jones, his turnover really killed the Heat's momentum. Then his missed free throw sealed the deal. Goat's horns. Memo to Shaq: Flash is no Kobe. Quote
Quincy Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Should be a great Finals! I think this is the 1st time that the champs from the past 2 seasons have faced each other since the Lakers & Celtics of the mid-'80s. (A lot of repeat champs from the Bulls, Rockets & Lakers is one reason why such a thing hasn't happened, plus you have to have an East champ one year and a West another.) Either Duncan wins his 3rd or the Pistons win 2 in a row. A lot on the line for both teams and their <cue dramatic music> place in history! Quote
Noj Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Yeah, GREAT. It will be like watching my two worst enemies in a fist fight. Can't they both lose? Quote
Brad Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Now, that's it over, I can cast my vote...Heat in 9 Quote
